This thread is for gamers in the UK and Ireland to post information about whether your local GAME/Gamestation/Gamestop store has a 3DS unit available to try in-store before launch. It's not intended for discussion of trade-in offers etc., but solely to post if your local store has a console to try out.
Here in sunny York, Gamestation York is getting a unit next week; GAME Coney St has a machine; not sure about Monks Cross.

In that case... I don't think so. I passed it today, didn't check if there was a 3DS unit in-store, though usually you can try out upcoming home console games in my local GameStop so... maybe. I might check tomorrow
Aparrently there's one in Lincoln's Gamestation... although I haven't been there!
Just been to Game in Oxford, and there's one there! You're not allowed to play any games on it, just navigate through the menus.... The 3D effect is awesome, though, and I don't know if they've made it better or something, but I found that you could play from any comfortable angle at all and still see 3D.
Just been round all the GAME and Gamestation stores in Southampton. Here's the results: Gamestation: No 3DS GAME (Bargate): No 3DS GAME (East Street): No 3DS GAME: (West Quay): 3DS! Sadly, it was turned off and behind the counter, and I didn't manage to pluck up the courage to ask to have a go on it...
Okay, the results from the one videogame shop I went to today: No 3DS, although there WERE some 3DS boxes saying to Pre-Order... Anyway, the "Demo" spaces had been taken by DJ Hero
I asked in GAME in Bournemouth yesterday and they said that they have one 3DS that is being shared between all the GAME stores in te area. According to the employee I spoke to it's at the GAME in the Castlepoint centre in Bournemouth right now, but I haven't been able to go there to check - put it down as a 'maybe'.

Norwich's main GAME store (in the City Centre) has a unit (for how long, I don't know), with (as far as I know) a single AR card.
I had one thrust upon me as I was buying my copy of Tactics Ogre (PSP) (I happened to bring up my interest in the 3DS in conversation). I'm quite pleased - I thought I was going to have to wait 'till the 17th of March to be able to have a look at it - and I was able to enjoy it in relative peace and quiet (before the morning rush - they'd opened at midnight for the Killzone release).
I might have to give it another try - just to double check I can see the 3D effects*.
The augmented reality/Faceraiders app was quite fun though.
The analogue stick is miles better than the PSP one I'm currently grappling with as well. Now all I need is a 'killer app', and I'll definitely preorder one.

Gamestation in Bournemouth has a 3DS! And I got to play it this time! (impressive and mind-melting. I might write some proper impressions later) Don't bother heading there straight down there to try it out, though, the battery died while I was playing it!
I was going to wait until launch to experience it but decided to give it a whirl, just in case for whatever reason I didn't think it was worth buying.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the Nintendo 3DS is amazing. I had a look around the Home menu, played an AR game and took a 3D picture. I can't wait until launch now!
@Machu How dare those shop workers attempt to help you out. They make me sick.
Glad you guys are enjoying your time with the console. I played a little StreetPass Quest today, which I think could be a real dark horse in the 3DS line-up!
