Topic: A Final Fantasy on the 3DS - But which?

Was just thinking of the speculation that a Final Fantasy might come to the 3DS. But which would you like to see?

A classic remake? An entirely new FF game? How about one of the Crystal Chronicles? Have a thought.

yeah CC Ring of Fates works for me.... although I fully expect FF Tactics A2 or would it be FF A3d3?

i read that squeenix wanna remake 5 and 6 on 3ds.

Final Fantasy VII was always my favourite and I think the increased storage allowance on the 3DS game carts and the 3D effects would do this game justice on a portable system.

logically, V or VI would be next considering III and IV already came for the DS, as did the handheld CC games... pretty sure demand would call for a main-series remake before we saw anything CC-related anyway. i wouldn't mind seeing them take a stab at a VII remake, though.

Yes I agree, I would love to see what they did with III and IV though and remake V or VI (or both) beautifully in (double) 3D!

@Malkeor: idk, i'm not a huge fan of the III/IV-style 3D revamping, especially considering how pretty VI is in 2D sprite form already, but i'd take something on a 3/DS over nothing at all at this point :3

Final Fantasy V, pretty please w/ sugar & cherry on top! With enhanced 2D graphics, and a follow up After Years-like story with the further misadventures of B & B (Bartz & Boko in 2012! ).

I agree on the FF III & IV DS graphics. And I'd waited over 20 years for III...

Final Fantasy XV in an ideal world (this ideal world also has it not suck). Dragon Quest IX was DS exclusive so why not? I already have 1-13 so don't care for a remake, 3 was okay from lack of release outside of Japan but I don't see the point in rereleasing them AGAIN (unless it was like 1-6 all on one cart, that would be pretty convienient). Crystal Chronicles games aren't that good in my opinion but Tactics could work or even a third Dissidia title.

Well I really liked the anime stylized caricatures of Final Fantasy III and Final Fantasy The Four Warriors of Light on the DS and I really wouldn't mind seeing something along those lines again on the 3DS; nevertheless that isn't exactly what I'm desirous of seeing unveiled at E3 2011 for the Nintendo 3DS. Instead, I'm hoping for and keeping my fingers crossed for an announcement of a new Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles game for the 3DS. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is my favorite Final Fantasy installment ever.

I'm also hoping that they'll give an official release date for 3DS Final Fantasy Chocobo Racing game that we've heard and seen nothing of or about lately.

I think a V remake would be the most fun since it seems to be the least-played of the first 6. I haven't played VII at all, so I'd like to see it remade too.

What I really want is the first 7 games completely remade for the 3DS, and in cartridge form. <3

Save VI and VII remake for HD consoles, specifically VI because if the game looked anything like the artstyle in it's art, the game would be mind blowing in HD.

FHOL sequel please. The best non main series FF game I've played in a long time. Keep that difficulty up too. This game had a lot of good stuff going for it. And bleh to the CC games lol. (JK to those that love the series with a passion. More power to ya)

Thank Kainard! I really like all the promotional art they used for The Four Heroes of Light. To bad we won't get an anime or manga out of either Crystal Chronicles or The Four Heroes of Light. How can Warcraft/ StarCraft get manga and not Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and Four Heroes of Light eh?

Through what I've played, I doubt it needs a remake.

I second this. FHOL was great stuff, and would do good with a sequel.

And Judging from Final Fantasy 3, 3D graphics just make battles soooo slow. If they do remake a game, I'd prefer they keep the games in Sprite form.

NOOOOOOOOO! I dislike sprites. We're in the 21st century. We don't need sprites anymore. 3D graphics are so much nicer than old skool sprites. Please not that. I dislike em.

However, Magical Starsign and A Kappa's Trail looked good and I was surprised that I really did enjoy playing those games but I simply don't like sprites that much. I like Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest games rendered in full 3D. Dragon Quest IX Defenders of the Starry Sky looked epic in 3D. It would have been a downright shame if had been a sprite game. Golden Sun was also great in 3D.

the III and IV remakes both pale in the face of the look of the original VI. eff the 3D-sprite trend, I will be pretty disappointed if they use them for VI — V i can give or take, and VII started off with 3D sprites anyway, but VI was gorgeous on its own and doesn't need any 'fixing' IMO.
