The new 3DS XL will have 1:1 Pixel Mode! translation? = your DS games and VC games will look better.

The original 3DS has been able to do this since day 1.

Considering this will simply be an oversized 3DS, I don't see how anyone could have thought I wouldn't inlcude this feature.

The only difference is now the 1:1 will actually be a reasonable size instead of looking microscopic.

The 1:1 Mode on the normal 3DS is not a TRUE 1:1 Mode that's why it looks so terrible. 1:1 is a scale ratio "The scale ratio of some sort of model which represents an original proportionally is the ratio of a linear dimension of the model to the same dimension of the original"; As you can check for yourself if you try to play a DS is a 3DS. You have two option just using the DS game without changing the options which it looks pretty bad or if you hold down Start and Select at startup of the DS game you will see that the game is downscaled.

Ummm, I'm pretty sure it is true 1:1, which is why everything looks so sharp and tiny. It's only when you use the default rescaling that everything looks all fuzzy.

Well is Nintendo who called the system of the 3DS XL "True 1:1 Pixel Mode".

Maybe that was their fancy way of saying it's 1:1 with the original 3DS . . . ?

That would be it. Also, unless they go out of their way to disable it, the same options for 1:1 rendering for DS and VC games will remain. (i.e. hold start or select when you boot up a game) They'll look better though, since the actual pixels will be 90% larger.

"1:1" means the same number of pixels but bigger? The exact same image only bigger?
If I'm right, this is good 'cause a different scale could create new pixels where there shouldn't be, giving an awful quality, right?
What I want to know is: Will the 3DS games (at least the new ones) have a better quality? I mean, bigger screen = more pixels = better resolution... in theory. Will the XL allow developers to make bigger resolution games or we're gonna have same resolution but scalated games?
P.S.: Sorry for my bar English.

that means the pixels on the 3ds XL are gonna be as big as ds lite/i pixels.

Did they, they as in Nintendo, say that there was 1:1 pixels on the 3ds AND the 3dsXL? If they are saying "NEW! 1:1 Pixels on the 3dsXL!" then they are doing that to get more customers. Chances are, no one is gonna buy a NEW 3dsXL when they already have a 3ds. I am so confused XD

Yes, the screens are exactly the same resolution. I guess if they say True 1:1 it sounds like some kind of fancy new feature and puts a better spin on the product. Some people were disappointed that the screen isn't any higher res, so that's probably why they prefer to word it that way.
