@HolyMackerel: to me, completely unmodified versions are a definite plus. i'm not a fan of people going back to fix what they perceived as errors (what if it turns out I happen to like those 'errors'? :/) or to add unnecessary fluff to games I loved while growing up. :3
@corbs: don't worry, it's there (seventh option down on the right). :3
BEST THREAD EVER future of NL >:3
[16:43] James: I should learn these site rules more clearly

Doesn't the 3DS have a slider where you can modify the amount of 3D? That means if you don't like it, you can just turn it off. But I guess you can be unhappy if you have to pay extra for the 3D though.
Anyway, I'm hoping I can get to play Super Mario Land 2 (well pretty much all of the Land series) and a lot of GBA games I've missed out on, such as Minish Cap.

the 3D isn't what drove the costs up, it was mostly the horsepower.
I hope it includes GBA games because that's the only major Nintendo portable I didn't get (well, except for the Virtual Boy. I'd definitely grab some VB games if they came up in non-Red and Black though). I'd grab Minish Cap but I'm not sure what other GBA games I'd be interested in. Maybe Super Circuit if it included multiplayer...... but Mario Kart 3DS.....
Oh, and the original Pokemans would be cool for all us oldies with original games with dead batteries. Again, said games would suck sooo much if they didn't include support for trading and battling. Hopefully they can have some sort of online multiplayer setup for VC games on the 3DS. That would be gold. It is supposed to be always connected right?
man, the thought of playing metroid II, fusion, and zero mission all together wherever i go is almost reason enough to buy it on it's own. (never got to play II or zero before)
Looking forward to The Conduit 2 and CoD: Black Ops for DS For really cool avatars for a forum, go here! http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Callsigns/Emblems

No what I mean is if Nintendo are going to add 3D to the Gameboy games on the VC, then they will probably sell them for more than they would have if they just left them as they were, which may annoy some people who don't wanna play the old games in 3D. Personally, it doesn't really bother me- I'm excited about it
ah yes. they've said that it's actually very simple to get games running in 3D, since all you have to do is program a second camera. that's probably easier for polygonal 3D games than 2D ones, though, but either way i wouldn't expect massively inflated prices due to 3D being added in.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...

Actually, 2D stuffs is pretty damn easy to convert to "3D". Most sprite based games are already setup with foreground layers, characters and background layers. All you need to do is tell the left screen to move the foreground to the right of centre and the background left of centre (I think)... do the same with the right screen (but in the opposite directions) and BAM, its 3D.
The biggest problem with this is.... how do you know the layers are correct, how do you deal with various sprite effects (think Super FX chip/Mode 7 etc) and how far into the screen should background layers go?
I'm a bit worried that the gba games are not listed on the official site. I checked it, but I only saw GB and GBC. Hope I'm wrong, but there might not be a GBA section when the system comes out. That aside, I'm happy to be able to play super mario land, my first ever game, and other GB titles I've missed in the past..
