Topic: 3DS Upgrade Transfer

Sorry if there's already a topic on this, I apologize in advance.
So I saw the 3DS XL and immediately thought about upgrading from my 3DS (the which I bought at launch) because it has many issues. For instance, the paint is starting to fall off, the d-pad does not respond properly, and it refuses to read some DS games. So my question is: people who have performed a system transfer from 3DS to 3DS, does the transfer transfer EVERYTHING? That includes Activity Log data (I really like to keep track of that stuff), StreetPass tags, friend list, etc... Thank you for any help!

Okay cool. Thanks. Now I just have to see how much GameStop will offer me if I trade it in... Probably 20 bucks if I'm lucky...

You will have to check in advance that GameStop will allow you to transfer your system over if you including the 3DS in the trade in. I know some people in the past have had to trade in their 3DS BEFORE recieving the well in their case different coloured 3DS but im sure this is more down to @sshole staff rather than store procedure. At least if you get some kind of confirmation that you can transfer your data during the trade in they will have to authorise it.

Hopefully they'll let me. I have a friend who tried to do just that but they refused to give him a new 3DS until he gave them the old one...

Out of curiosity as ive never transferred anything and ideally i would like to go to a shop and trade in my 3DS and pick up a 3DS XL then transfer my stuff across, how long does this take as i'll be in a shop & what exactly is the procedure involved and do i have to wait for every game etc to be downloaded or is it just account details ?

Account details. The games and software on the SD card stay on the SD card. The process could take a while

If you have 1 SD card, then buy the 3DS XL, do system transfer right away on the XL, and transfer the data to the other 3DS. REMOVE THE 3DS XL'S SD CARD FIRST. (If it doesn't require it, if it does, then leave it in.) Then after the transfer, shut off your 3DS XL, put the SD card from the old system in, and ta-da! Everything is intact.

If only I knew how to do this with my 2 SD cards.... I use the 2 GB and 8 GB, and I wonder if it would let me play on the other system with those cards if I did a transfer.

I just want to know if the L and R buttons are as good as the 3DS's. If they are plastic like the original DSI's, then I won't get an XL.
