Hey everyone, so let me explain my situation with the 3ds. Back in early 2012 I bought one before I had a job or anything so I didnt get to buy too many games for it ( As of now I only have Fire Emblem Awakening, Kid Icarus Uprising, and NSMB 2). Then around the fall of 2013, it stopped working (it had many eshop titles and animal crossing on it). So I'm looking purchase a new one and want to hear your recommendations and which console should I buy (3ds, 3ds XL, 2ds) and should I buy it used. And also which games I get should get. I don't really wanna spend a whole lot money though. So please leave your recommendations I would greatly appreciate what you guys have to say!

@miiandmario You said that your 3DS stopped working. Why not call Nintendo and see what they could do (especially with all the eShop purchases)?

I would contact Nintendo, explain the situation and see if you can get your games transferred to a new system. I'd go for the XL if you can and get Zelda ALBW, great game.

Yeah I should probably do that, Basically what happened was that there was a little water on my desk and I accidently left the 3ds near it and i found it later with water on it but it work fine so I just ignored it but the next day it didn't work. I got a new battery and that did not work either so yeah I really should call them maybe a repair will cost less than buying a new system. Thanks for help guys I'll call them soon!

Hey guys so I called Nintendo they said I could try charging the system overnight and if that doesn't work then I would need a repair. But it would take a while and would cost almost $100 so I may end up just going for a 2DS.

Fair enough, just be aware you'll lose you previous shop purchases going down that route AFAIK

Why don't you ask Nintendo to do a transfer for you?

I did this with my old 3ds that died. They made me jump through hoops and it took almost 2 hours on the phone. It was well worth it though and they have excellent service.

Mine would not power on. My friend also had a zelda XL edition that got chewed up by his dog and would not function. We both did the same service call and got our info transferred. Just explain the information, and make sure you have any billing info relating to your old DS. If you know what digital games you have downloaded (if any), it'll be key to know this. Nintendo will most likely ask you. If you know all this info it should be a breeze. Update us on your progress!

Yeah same thing happened to me mine wouldn't power on either. I'm getting a new one next week so I'll call then and let everyone know what happens.
