Does anybody else think Nintendo should make a reinvention of Super Mario World like they did with New Super Mario Bros.? I mean think about it. The SNES version had a TON of levels, a lot of diversity, Yoshi, powers for Yoshi, that awesome cape, and even a whole other world that was unlocked once you completed the star area! I loved playing this game as a kid, I still love to play it, and I would love to see this happen.
Frankly, I'm surprised they haven't done anything sooner, or even announced a possibility for this on the 3DS.
As my favourite 2D-platformer by far yet. So of course i'd love to see a sequel that's at least equally as good. But that's going to be very tough. Especially graphically since i think Nintendo will want to update the graphics. Und yes the thing i love SMW most for is the choices it gives you (use green Yoshi, red Yoshi, the Cape, yellow Yoshi, firepower, purple Yoshi ,... ?) and the amazing secrets in it.
I think in order for it to be as good, it needs to have as much or more content, and overall be equal or greater to its predecessor. These may be high expectations, but I would be dissapointed with anything less.

I would hope that they do update the game graphically much like Nicalis is doing Cave Story or the way Nintendo updated Wario Land The Shake Dimension.

It feels like it would be about time that they did something with SMW, they already gave Yoshi's Island a sequel, but not the original SMW. What's up with that?
I want them to use NSMBWii's graphics, but for the love of mashed potatoes, keep World's physics. now THAT's how you celebrate a 25th anniversary! :3
Yeah, more control when jumping and falling would definitely be a plus. Playing alone in NSMB Wii was hell because of that.
Thank god, I was starting to think I was the only one who felt that way.

I have never started a thread on NL. Maybe I'm scared of dragons and chickens.

Of course, in NSMBW, you DO have the wall jump ability, so you can save yourself there. Not so in World. And that's actually not a bad thing. Mario World would be way too easy with wall jumping, so I want it left out, personally.

Well, maybe the new World game could have levels that are hard enough to make wall jumping a useful thing. And the cape. Flying over the entire level with the cape was kinda easy.
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

I'd prefer wall jumping as opposed to the Cape. The Cape is a little bit of a cheat in my opinion.
