it didnt do this to me with the DSi/DSlite stylus. But with the 3Ds, it begins to feel unconfortable after a few minutes, and after half an hour, i got a red mark.
people got hyped over the battery's life, but the stylus prevents me to play long enough to see this !
just kidding. I still use most of the time a third party stylus, a wacom graphire pen(intuos is too large and hide the screen when using it)

am i the only one who unconfortable with the metallic stylus ?

Maybe you're gripping it too hard? I have no problem with the 3DS stylus and find it to actually be quite comfortable.

Stop trying to stab it through your palm.

You're definitely holding the stylus way too hard. Relax your grip and enjoy the game without getting too hyped up. I've never had any problems with the stylus, and I've played games like Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass for extended periods of time.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

i finished phantom hourglass yesterday for the first time ! very nice game, one of my favourite in the franchise.

im quite used with stylus and digital pens, I use a wacom graphic pad every day, and this for the past 10 years...
i doubt im putting too much pressure on my pen.
and its not the fact that i use a stylus all day long, because everyday, the first one that goes in my hand is my 3Ds in the bus.

im starting to thik its my hand physionomy or something.

oh, and i never stab my hand with the stylus, are you crazy ? the only place i stab my stylus at is in my tight. oh joyful pain.

Perhaps allergic for Stainless steel? Since the 3DS stylus is made out of it, and most of the styli (jup, correct multiple form of slyus ) I know are made of plastic (including all DS systems).

hey, maybe it has something to do with it.
might not be an allergy, but more of a skin irritant.

You can try it with other products made out of stainless steel and check if the same will happen then. If it does, you can better use a plastic stylus (like those from the original DS line (phat, Lite, i, i XL)) with the 3DS.

no problem with the stylus. only thing that kinda sucks is that it is located in the back of the 3DS and not on the side like with the dsi. i am used to dsi^^

Well...

I did poke some of my friends with my stylus on their sides. It really hurts, that's for sure.

not only they hurt, but theyre also stealthy. quite convenient.

as for stainless steel...i kinda eat with stainless utensil since my childhood hahaha
I will try a third party 3DS stylus to see if they work better for me. its not very costly anyway.

I just hold it like I do always, which is rather delicately light. I'm one of those people, without a sense of control. I can easily, deform it without knowing.

Exactly; the new stylus is a big improvement in construction, but horribly placed. I could go from buttons to stylus use on the DS / DSi in one swift move (crucial for games like Henry Hatsworth), but now I'll pretty much have to keep holding the stylus if I'm going to need it, because there's no way to pull it out of the back without completely interrupting gameplay.

This. I've complained about the stylus placement before but I'll complain again just to emphasize it. What was Nintendo thinking?!

I agree the stylus placement is quite horrid on the 3DS. Although I am used to going to the back to get the stylus now. When I was playing my DSi a few days ago, I went to reach for the stylus where it would be on 3Ds and was momentarily confused. It kind of second-nature now to pop the stylus out with my thumb nail and pull it open with my teeth. That doesn't stop it from still being terrible placement though...

I also find the placement of the stylus to be a bit confusing.

My bigger concern with the 3DS stylus is that whenever I have it extended, I feel like I'm going to bend and break it at the seam. I can't really tell how durable the thing is. My hands are kind of big though, and it makes it literally impossible for me to hold a crayon without accidentally snapping it in the center.

It's actually quite durable. I messed with mine a bit and it never bent or broke

Never had any problems, yet.

I don't mind where it's placed, since that is where its original location was on the DS Phat. But I did like that you could just whip it out from the side, made it more convenient that's for sure, but it could just be they needed that room for the high tech stuff tucked away in there and the only viable spot was back at its original slot.
