Okay, so I have read the other postings of other people loosing the 3ds. The problem is I do not have my serial number. It is not registered in club Nintendo even though I did register it. Anyways.. I can look at my friends code thing and it does not give me any new friend information. I know who stole my 3ds. I contacted Nintendo and they said they need the serial number. I feel like if I contact the police they will not do anything, Is there anything I can do with the friend code? 0516-7344-4862. Or can one of you try to add them as a friend and ask their name. It's a 7 years old 3ds.
Sorry but the best bet is to contact the police and file a report, that way Nintendo can help you recover your stuff once you file a report. Joining a site and then asking people to contact this 3DS owner is not the brightest thing to do.
Even if you have the serial number, NIntendo will refuse to help you unless you've filed a police report. Trust me, I know. Just go to the police if you can.
That said, if you have the original packaging, i think the serial number is also listed on the 3DS' box.

Beat me to it. Do you still have the box @vashy_kun? Of course, due to repairs I've had my serial number changed, so the one on my box is different than the one on my 3DS now, but if you've never sent it in for repairs the same one should be on the box...

Haha I know, but I am just desperate. It was family and I really don't want to call the police.
@vashy_kun: Again, Nintendo will refuse to help you unless you file a police report. My 3DS was stolen from my truck in a wal-mart parking lot, i didn't realize it until i got home and felt so stupid that it had happened in the first place (not to mention i had no idea who to even talk to at the wal-mart that it happened at) that i didn't go to the police. Nintendo absolutely refused to help me out when I was generously given a replacement — even though I had the original 3DS' serial number and all its paperwork, I hadn't filed a police report, and that's what they wanted from me. If you're not willing to go that far, you may as well give up now.
I'm guessing it was a 7-year-old who stole your 3DS? if so, is it not possible to go to their parents and get it back? It's not like you wouldn't have identifying information on the console, your Miis and profile information that could identify it as yours perhaps? and if the parents are unwilling to help you out, why be afraid to go to the police about it? theft is theft, whether committed by family or no.

"I can look at my friends code thing and it does not give me any new friend information."
You wouldn't be able to see that information without your 3DS, unless you're talking about looking at your 3DS profile on your friend's 3DS.
"It's a 7 years old 3ds."
Not possible.
I don't have definite proof, but she bought 3ds game with my husbands power up card and she does not own a 3ds. She tried saying that her father in law bought the games for someone else. Then she backtracked and daid the games were for the father in law.She Is a grown women whole stole from her 7 year old nephew.

Have you proven that she's stolen from you before, so you have reason to believe she is the one behind it now? And have you looked everywhere it could be? You might as well file a police report, or just deal with it and never truly know. That's really all you can do at this point.

Did you tell your husband? If so, he can't talk to her?
Just casually mention to her that it was stolen and you plan on having the police track the device via its spotpass feature
You'd be suggesting that a police officer will carry around a 3DS until he spotpasses the culprit, but if she steals from a 7 year old she's probably not smart enough to know any better
