I looked for a thread on this but didn't see one, sorry if it's a duplicate

Anyway, have any other of you 3DS owners noticed an issue with the sound slider? lately mine has been acting up, even when it's in the 'mute' position I can still hear sound coming out of the speakers (it's really noticeable in a quiet room) it's not a big deal atm, but I'm afraid it will get worse (which would be a problem as I play it in some places where I have to be quiet), have any of you had this problem and/or found a solution? Please and thank you

EDIT: Massive problem just surface, earlier today I noticed that my ambassador copy of WarioLand wouldn't start, system told me to redownload from the eShop, so I went to do that, then remembered I had to delete the old software first, system then told me it couldn't be deleted, so I went back to the home menu, only to find that every single icon for software that's on my SD card was missing, I went back to data management, only to find that the data is still there, it just won't show up on my home menu at all, and when I accessed the eShop to try and dload Warioland again, it told me I couldn't access the eShop as the system couldn't read my SD card, I'm currently checking with Nintendo support, but if anyone knows anything, please, let me know

All I can hear when my volume slider is down s white noise.
Have you contacted Nintendo's customer support?
Also has it started doing it since you updated (that is if you updated)

it actually didn't start (at least I didn't notice it) til after I did the update Thursday (I know, I was late on it, blame campus wifi)
It hasn't gotten to the point where I'll go through customer support, though I will if it gets any worse/my warranty is almost up, I was simply trying to figure out if this was a common issue or not, though apparently you have no such problem, weird

I've actually had just the opposite problem. I was playing Mario Kart and closed the system. 10 minutes later I open it back up and I don't hear anything. The volume on the slider was at max but no noise actually came out of the speakers. I closed it again and opened it later when I left the restaurant I was at and the sound was back. It hasn't happened since but I really hope these are just freak occurrences and don't create serious problems in the future...

I'm sorry for your SD card problems I would try turning the system off, removing it, turning the system on, and putting it back. I think I had a weird SD card hiccup a few months back but it turned out to be nothing.

oh I've been doing that in every way possible for about 10 minutes now, still now luck, it's just weird that the 'data management' can read the data being there, but nothing else, really don't want to have to delete and reload all my software... even if I could access the eShop

Same thing happened to me with the SD card. I turned system off, removed SD card, clicked the little yellow "lock" switch on and then off, put it back in, and everything seemed to work fine.

Copy everything off your SD card to a folder on your computer. (Standard method for copying to a different/new SD card)
Format the card. Then copy everything back onto it.

done that about 20 times now, no luck yet... I'll try formatting the card I guess, see if that works, after backing up my stuff anyway

FIXED!!! When I stuck it in my computer to format it, it said that there was a weird file system error of some kind, and fixed it for me, the SD card is now functioning properly! SO GLAD it wasn't my SD card reader, really didn't want to have to send it in, thanks everyone for the help, now all that's left is my sound slider issue, and that's really not a big deal
