I sure hope that isn't the case again. My DS Lite's shoulder buttons both went bad, then my DSi now needs blowing to restore its shoulder buttons before each time you play. I was hoping that they'd finally figured this one out.
ikr. How come console game controllers don't have this issue?
I made Kid Tripp! PocketGamer gave it a 9 out of 10! You should totally buy it now!

Hey guys, just a small update.
I've conducted some tests using the 3DS Sound application (when you use sound FX with the shoulder buttons).
Basically a registration of R button presses to get an efficiency percentage, based out of 15 presses.
Test 1: 15/15 = 100%Test 2: 13/15 = 87%Test 3: 12/15 = 80%Test 4: 14/15 = 93%Test 5: 10/15 = 66%
So... yes, the shoulder button responses are rather spontaneous. I will consider sending it to Nintendo for repairs, but I will still do testing... for science.

I really hope I don't end up with faulty 3DS shoulder buttons like I did on the DSi. Blowing helped, but wasn't a permanent fix. If it happens again I'm gonna be ultra sad It took a lot of trouble for me to get a 3DS so having it break on me will be devastating.

My DSi shoulder buttons never suffered any fate other than a 2 year long life playing a ton of games. My 3DS shoulder buttons aren't suffering any fate either after having played m 3DS for something like 270 hours. Look in my sig for the exact hours I've played my 3DS, I can't remember of the top of my head.

I had hoped this would be fixed on the 3DS. I had this issue on the dsi, but not on the Adance SP.

I have no idea what you guys are complaining about. I bought my DSi at launch and it is still in good condition and both my L & R buttons still work!

I've had that problem with my DSi once. I sent it in to Nintendo, and it was promptly repaired and sent back to me, no problem. So far I haven't had any problems on my 3DS, and I hope nothing does happen.

Well it should be. Isn't the regular warranty a year or so? It's longer if you registered it with Club Nintendo.

Oh wow, I haven't tapped this thread in ages.
Well, I sent off my 3DS for repairs about a week ago. Nintendo has it and I should have it returned to me by either the end of this week or the start of next week.
