I'm running out of blocks on my 3DS and I want to download a few retail games so it looks like it is time for an SD card upgrade. Confession: I have absolutely no experience with SD cards and have never even taken one out or put one in D:
I'm looking for maybe a 16GB SD card. Does anyone know how many blocks that is? Nintendo sells a 16GB card for $13.00 online apparently. Should I go with that or pick up an SD card elsewhere? I need some guidance with this so if you have experience with upgrading a 3DS' SD card I would love to hear some of your tips, which SD card you bought, and where I could get one at a reasonable price. Thank you!
3DS (Playing): Bravely Default, Conception II, DKCR, SMT:IV
3DS Wishlist: Kirby TD, Smash, Pokemon AS, Fantasy Life, Persona Q, Etrian Odyssey Untold
Wii U (Playing): Mario Kart 8, Wind Waker HD, Monster Hunter 3U, DKCTF, Zombi U, Shovel Knight
Wii U Wishlist: Bayonetta 2, Hy...
Hmmm...I guess that's good. You can go up to 32 GB, maybe consider that size if you plan on downloading a lot.
Nintendo doesn't sell 32 GB cards, you'll have to go somewhere else for that. Amazon has good prices.
Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.
Now playing:
Final Fantasy XIV (PC) | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch) | Celeste (Switch)
Thank you for the advice everyone! I might look into a 32GB SD card after all. If not, I'll just go with Nintendo's 16GB one.

I bought a 32gb card recently, but my current 16gb one is still holding up pretty well, I still have a lot of space so I haven't had to replace it yet.
I'm at the situation where I need an SD card. Wanted to download Kid Icarus Uprising as it was very cheap in the Smash newcomers sale but couldn't due to not enough blocks (currently using the 2GB SD card that came with the original 3DS console).
