What are your thoughts on Zero? it's always slammed as the weakest in the franchise and i don't think it gets quite a fair shake. I think it was released right at the point when RE was getting pretty stale and RE Zero just wasn't enough after the remake hit the shelves.
Anyways, I'm suprised i haven't been keeping up with most of the Revlations info. I think i've seen all of the trailers, there are 3 am I right? Plus some gameplay footage and the like. Haven't read the actual reviews though...Are they spoiler free? I guess I'm just trying to keep most of it a suprise.
Loved Zero, the feeling of claustrophobia on the train was perfect for Resident Evil, contrasting perfectly with the rush of being on the roof. The puzzles were great, while sometimes being infuriating at the same time, especially with the character switching, I will never understand why they never expanded on that. Rebecca will always be my favourite Resi' character, to this day I still feel protective of her, even though she was quite capable of looking after herself (well sort of, what was she thinking joining S.T.A.R.S in the first place!). Going to start from scratch tomorrow, as everthing after the train is a little hazy, I always thought it was the true sequel / prequel to the (possibly perfect) original game. Only Alone in the Dark (PC original) & Project Zero (PS2) have come close to scaring the life out of me.
As for the viral videos I think there are 3 of them, not even sure if they are official or not, no great shakes if you miss them but a nice idea just needed a bit more oomph!

The 3DS Mercs games looks and plays differently from the raid mode on Revelations from the videos I have seen. I really enjoy RE:M but raid doesnt look half as much fun. Still its a nice bonus but I think I will still be playing mercs even when I get Revelations.

It's 3rd person all the way for me. Plus I've been hearing the first person aiming doesn't work quite as well.
i think the 1st person aiming works much better. shooting is after all what a 1st person view is for in the first place. it zooms you in and lets you see what you're hitting much more clearly, and it barely even matters that you lose sight of enemies behind you since the over the shoulder camera is so tight behind your character you can't see much anyway.

i didn't mean it in a bad way. re3's mercenaries was a lot of fun, but it didn't last long since you had only one level and no incentive to replay once you unlocked your weapons. raid mode might flesh out the original mercenaries concept a little better and give you more levels, better replay value and co op, which would be a nice change of pace from the new mercenaries.
i was about to order this on amazon but they're not listing release date delivery... and i'm cringing at the thought of having to deal with gamestop's employees. shudder

@Waveboy The volume of a game depends solely on the developers. Have you played any 3D classics? They're loud. If Capcom has any brains I'm sure they'll give the game a good volume level to scare players with a pop-up scene.
And that's why I use headphones with a volume slider! Nintendo video seems to work OK sometimes with the volume. I'm sure it will sound as good as it looks!
