Hi to all Nintenlifers !

and a happy new year lately 2012 ...

Now i searched the forum and to my suprise i didnt find a thread to this probably magnificent game. Actually this game was the reason why i already bought the 3Ds in march last year. Now we can celebrate that this game is ONLY two weeks away. Are you folks already excited ?!

There were threads which complained the game will cost over 60 dollars / pounds etc. But there are some nice pre order deals out there.
About UK speaking at the moment Zavvi still holds the exclusive deal with the circle pad pro in bundle for just 35 £.
So today i pre-ordered it. Even if the circle pad flops the deal is just a nobrainer

So what you all think about it ? Already in warm up position? Getting all the news you can or just dont want to spoil the story and just wait for the 27. ? Since Re:5 i long for a great two person coop zombie-shooter ...

For a nice warm up here is the link which waveboy posted in the past i sure think he is ok with that:

Thanks @ waveboy

and cheers to everyone

Just got my Edge magazine this morning & I'm not a happy bunny. Now I know Edge can be somewhat lost up it's own posterior at times, to the degree that you are not always sure if they are actually talking about a video game let alone which one.
BUT with a review score of 6 out of 10 & some upsetting insight into the gameplay, I really need convincing not to cancel my Zavvi order of Resident Evil: Revelations, even the with the literally "free" Circle Pad Pro. I just don't think I can handle another 3DS dissapointment, I bought the 3DS for 5 reasons, it's 3D screen, the possibilty of 3D movies, Pilotwings, Resident Evil & Metal Gear Solid. Well I got my 3D screen & Metal Gear is still to arrive (please be superb) but well this little machine just seems to keep leaving me underwhelmed & disappointed. Hey, Edge has got it horribly wrong before, I hope they have this time
Off to look at Game Informer, see if that lifts my spirits a little if not I'm sure a few laps round Ridge Racer 3D (old school awesomeness, is that a word?) will sort my head out. Oh, I was soooo looking forward to RE: R.

Other reviewers have been being more positive about it like the Game informer who gave it 9.0 (mentioned earlier on in the thread) and ONM who gave it 90%.

From what I've seen the game looks really good so I would just ignore reviews like that.
Most games cop their share of criticism that they don't deserve so sometimes you just need to look past it.

Everyone has a different opinion of games and personally I'm pretty sure I'm really going to enjoy Resident Evil: Revelations even if other sources say it sucks.

I think this is the first third party game that really needs to sell well on the 3ds. I'm not saying that others up to this point weren't important but many third party developers will be looking at the sales of this game to see if they should invest time and money to bring over different teen and m rated franchises to the system! I for one can't wait for the release and lets all hope in the coming months this one breaks the one million mark that's all so important!

It'll be a real shame if this doesn't sell well.
They appeared to have put a lot of effort into this one.
I'll be picking it up at launch myself.

Exactly BenAV. No developer will put that much time and effort into their 3ds games if it doesn't pay off in the long run. Well except Nintendo of course put I'm talking strictly third party. I want all the big names from the HD systems on the 3ds but what I fear is to many kids ha e the system and not enough adult or teens that will be able to play this game! Monster hunter at least in Japan seems to be the exception to the rule.

The majority are giving it fantastic reviews, don't let a little Edge bring you down.
They're just pulling a little GameSpot. Either they really do feel that way about the game, or they're just trying to gain attention.

NintendoLife will most likely give it a '9'(Ahem they really need to get with the .5 system hehe) and the same goes for IGN.

Having watched all the videos & viral stuff again, followed by a quick go on the Gamecube remakes, my Resident Evil excitement level is back to maxed out. As punishment to Edge for putting a downer on it i will not read the rest of the mag for at least a week, that will teach them! Roll on the 27th...

I'm stoked to read Gameinformer's review. They're always great.

And they gave it a 9 !

I have been waiting for this game since it was announced. Been only reading bits and pieces since i don't want to ruin the surprises. Can't wait. Picking it up at launch day. I have a gift card that i'm using to get the game along with the circle pad pro. Also plan on picking up MGS3D later in that month too when it comes out.

So far i've been preparing for it by playing RE: Mercenaries 3D. Not the best RE game but still loads of fun. Planning on playing RE: Deadly Silence (original DS game) too starting tomorrow. I'm off from work on Monday so i'll be busy playing both.

I just can't wait any longer !!!!!!!

Are you all going to rush thru the story mode just to unlock the multiplayer mode Raid? Personally, i'm not, i'm going to take my time playing the story in third person first, trying to find all unlockables and collectables and such. Then i might try Raid mode a couple times but then try the story mode again in first person. After that, i'll do more Raid mode.

Chrono_Cross

According to Gameinformer's review...

  • Story takes place sometime after RE5.
  • You play as characters in flashbacks assuming you replay main events in previous installments
  • Ammo is scarce. Worse than RE5 and RE4. Which is a good thing.
  • Genesis scanner is very useful
  • New dodge ability. Very useful. The controls are very smooth and likeable.
  • Graphics are astounding. No more choppy textures. Enemies look freaky when they move.
  • Call of Duty like customization for weapons. Shotgun + extended mag + scatter shot + augmented power? Go right ahead.
  • Raid mode is addicting but sort of lacking. Fun way to earn attachments and whatnot.
  • Translations in the back story files you read are done poorly. Also the new characters "blow." One of them says blow all the time and he finds it annoying, lol.

so they're doing the same as literally every other older game series lately and combining the new games with stuff from the old games. As soon as I saw "translations" and "poorly" in the same sentence, I knew it was on purpose.

The episodic structure isn't just great for storytelling; it also makes for perfect pacing. Your time is divided between methodically exploring the cruise ship as Jill and through action-packed flashbacks or diversions as other characters.

Directly from Gameinformer, Page 92 of their review.

The only characters mentioned are Quint (a snotty turbo nerd who thinks he's better than everyone else), and Keith always says everything "blows." They sound very annoying already.

romulux

raid mode sounds a lot like the original mercenaries from re3, running through linear stretches of the single player game killing enemies to earn weapon unlocks. and wow, does mercenaries 3D suck in comparison now that the new re has it's own full minigame included...
