I have no idea why, but for some god forsaken whenever I place my 3DS on my DSi while its in sleep mode (And the DSi is off) The sound starts playing and the camera function works. It doesnt do that with anything else but my DSi. Lol, what the heck is up with all these random glitches...

I just tried this and mine doesn't do that.

I have had this happen on my 3ds but not on a dsi. I think it may just be when it's perfectly level (gyro/step counter).

Perhaps you pressed the L or R button on accident.

I tried setting mine on all my other DS versions, my PSP, laptop, and other electronic stuff and it only works when I place it on the DSi

I suspect it's down to the magnets. The DS systems had magnetic sensors which pick up the magnets in the speakers when closed and that triggers sleep mode. I see no reason why Nintendo would change this system for the 3DS and it's possible that the proximity of all the magnets are affecting the sensors in the 3DS.

Edit: Yep, magnets are still employed. Held the lid of my wife's 3DS close to my controls with my 3DS open and it went into sleep mode.

That actually sounds like a very reasonable explanation of what's going on, lol!

Nintendo has a section in the manual that says the sleep mode does not work around certain magnetic fields. Don't know why it goes that way around your dsi, but I'm guessing that's the problem.

So the 3DS gets turned on when its mounted on other Nintendo hardware? Give it a few months and there'll be little DS Lite babies running around :3

But why would you place a 3DS on top of a DSi? Just to see if something strange happens?

I was just putting it down because I had to do something else, and my Super Street Fighter 4 music started playing out of the blue!
