Topic: 3DS Release Date

Is there any chance that the 3DS release date will be delayed due to the problems in Japan?

...I always get the feeling the stores already have the systems...lol...

I know that this is the case in the stores near to where I live.

I think we would have heard by now if that needed to happen. The systems are mainly made in China anyways, I think (though some chips/components may be made in Japan. I know prices of some computer chips have gone up since some factories have been damaged/needed to shut down due to rolling black outs). Like wowwowzers said, the corporate office is in Kyoto and so wasn't affected, so if their supply chain was compromised, we would know.

Edit: If they're coming over on ships, the launch ones will already be on their way anyway. We'd see shortages in a couple months if there are disruptions.

NO. Nintendo did say that they were safe, and that no one was harmed (that worked for Ninty). And besides, I'm sure that many have already be sent here for the previewing and stuff.

I heard Nintendo was fine but it depends on more than just Nintendo, I was thinking something like shipping could delay it...

Because they spent a huge amount of money on a precision timed marketing campaign around release dates on the 25th and 27th. If they brought forward the release date, they'd have had to bring forward the advertising campaign to match, or it's money down the drain, and since TV advertising is often booked months in advance, that can't really happen.
