One last question I used to enjoy animal crossing but never played it on the 3ds. So between animal crossing and fantasy life which would you recommend?
2 different beasts here. ACNL is definitely more complete then any other AC to date and I put in over 200 hours on that as well. However at the end of all that I had to ask myself what did I really accomplish. It was good for what it did but all you do is collect stuff. Cool stuff though but still. Both have different styles of play as well because FL is more rpg then SIM. Its actually very little SIM on comparison.
Thanks! Still going with fantasy life. Major RPG fan here.
I've just ordered my N3DS, it will be my first ever handheld. I'm having a pig of a time deciding which game I should order to have ready for when the N3DS arrives.
I want to play Zelda-LBW, and Zelda-MM, but as I've got a WindWakerHD game ongoing on my WiiU, as well as a Skyward Sword game on my Wii, I'm thinking I really should finish one before I get more. I'm also ignorant of Zelda-lore. People mention it a lot, but I don't know if I should be playing the games in a certain order to understand anything better.
I want to play a Pokemon game. Never played one, so I figure ORAS is my best bet as it's the latest edition, but also a remake of the original (???) But, I hear the 3D in Pokemon is skimped a fair amount - I want to experience the full pleasure of the 3DS asap, will I be disappointed if my first game is Pokemon?
I want to get Art Academy, but there appear to be different versions, both retail and eshop. Ideally I'd have it as a download but eshop price looks a lot higher from what I can see (£5 on Amazon.co.uk, $29.99 on eshop). Is there an obvious choice to go for (I'm a novice artist, looking for lessons etc.)?

Zelda doesn't need to be played in any order. It's really all a confusing mess if you try to connect too much anyways. All you really need to know for the most part is the main characters are descendants from the original. Get OOT3d while your at it. You van never have too much Zelda!

So what do you guys think of 3D Space Harrier? I'll admit, It blew me away back in the arcades when I was younger, but playing it now....It just hasn't really aged that well. It feels just a little too shallow for my liking. Going to plow through the rest of it this morning and see if it gets a little more enjoyable towards the end
So far out of the 3D Genesis line up, I've only really enjoyed Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Mater and oddly enough Altered Beast which has the same game playing rythem as splatterhouse. I can't stand Streets of Rage anymore, After Burner 2 seems pretty RAD for what it is but it just isn't my cup of tea. Fantasy Zone is quite boring to be honest with a useless power up system with an awful in-game stopping power up shop....once you make the upgrade, you're new abilities don't even last that long. Didn't bother with Sonic the hedgehog since I can't stand the 2D series anymore.
But yup, Ecco the Dolphin and Outrun whenever that gets a release are next on the list.
And yet you didn't mention the best and only one I have, 3d Galaxy Force 2. Great looking 3d and imo better then Space Harrier.

I have both and like Luigi's Mansion a bit better. The online is still very active and we'll worth a go as it's fun!
Thanks for the recom! You're awesome! I got Luigi's Mansion. I'm not really sure about Dream Team but it was 57% off while Luigi's is only 25%. Plus I think my 5 y/o kid could play it while Dream Team might be complicated for him.
Also, I said I'm going digital but thought I will have to share carts with my kid when he's old enough to have his own 3DS.

He should be able to play with a little help. My now 8 year old beat it but he needed help on almost every boss and got stuck here and there. Online is easier though as it's more straight forward.

Hey guys. I'm new to 3DS. Luigis's Mansion 2 (Dark Moon) for €29.80 or Mario & Luigi Dream Team Bros for €17.35?

Luigi's Mansion 2 was a tedious grating experience, I much prefer the original. The 2nd started to get stale the moment you started the 2nd mansion. The ghosts were also lack luster, generic and totally cookie cutter compared to the awesome ghosts in the original. I tossed it out of my collection, probably one of the most overrated games on the hand held imo!
I'll admit the first was still better but if there was no first to compare it to then I think it stands fairly well on its own.

So my birthday is next week, and i wanted to get some 3ds games. But i can't quite decide if i should get Fire Emblem: Awakening or Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. I've heard both are great and wanted to give them a try, but i'm only getting one for now, so i wasn't sure which to pick up first.
Keep in mind that i have never played a game from either franchise, so i know none of the story or gameplay. So i also don't know if i'd be okay with just jumping into the series from the newest installment or if i should play one of the other installments first to get me familiar with the story or gameplay.
I'll be there when you least expect it.
Currently playing: Majora's mask 3D, Metroid 2: Return of samus, VVVVVV, SSB3D and Pokémon alpha sapphire
Current Wishlist: Fire Emblem: Awakening, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, Bravely Default and Kirby Triple Deluxe

Both have demos in the eshop so you can decide for yourself. Monster Hunter has the longer legs though but you can easily get well over 100 hours out of FE:A.

Well, i just wanted to see what other people said first because there's only so much a demo can show. I wasn't sure with FE:A if there was another game in the franchise that i should play first since FE:A, i believe, is driven by a story. I just didn't want to get confused about what was going on in the game. And since i was leaning more towards FE:A, i wanted to make sure.

Ann I right in thinking Monster Hunter games really need to be played online. My 3DS is more for mobile gaming where wifi can't be relied upon, so I'm not sure I'll get much out of it...
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

I've played literally 1 hour online and about 30 off so far. I could easily play another 200 or more hours offline to get what I need or feel like I've finished the game properly. If you want a bunch of armor sets and weapons of all varieties then you will be playing forever lol. Tons of content offline.

I believe I heard that multiplayer makes the game easier, but I'm not sure about anything else.
But if that's correct, then I probably won't be getting it. Like you, I mostly use my 3ds where there's no wifi, so I'd be missing a lot of gameplay features.

Actually online can be a mixed bag. Get a bad team and you get nowhere. When I played Tri online everyday for about 4 months I probably lost 30 hours of game play to failed quests because of one specific person. I liked him and all but boy did we fail a lot. I say off line is every bit as easy as online as you can rely on yourself far more then others.

Yeah i can see that some people can make you fall behind quite a bit. But I'm just looking for a game that'll entertain me on long car trips or when I'm bored.
And this may be an odd question, but do the L & R buttons play a huge part in controls in MH4U or are they just minor things? My L button is broken and the R button only works every so often.

The R button is used most of the game so that probably just made your decision.
