Get the PS3 version.....The '3D' isn't that great for the 3DS version anyways, plus when it's enabled you're playing at 30 frames per second. And as many have mentioned trillions of times the backgrounds are static, lifeless and there's no animation to be sceen regading the people, animals or just anything.....It's pretty akward, and well...lifeless

I haven't played DOA, but it seems that a lot of people seem more pleased with it.

Rayman 2 was considered to be one of the best 3D platformers of it's time and still holds well enough today. Played it on the Playstation years ago, and considered it up there with Crash Bandicoot 3. But the problem with this port is that it is a bad one. If you don't have an N64, a Dreamcast, a PS/2/3 or an iDevice, pick it up, it's still a great game. Just be weary of the framerate issues in the game, especially in 3D mode.

I'm deciding whether to get DoA or PW:R. Initially, I was intent on getting DoA until I heard how PW has the best 3D of all the games in the 3DS library so far. I'm curious to see the 3D of PW and I never tried a flight sim before, but I can only get one game right now. So how good is Pilot Wings for you?

Supposedly EB Games in Canada is going to have Monkey Ball for $20 soon. I've been holding out for it to drop to $20, but now I'm seriously wondering is it even worth that much? I still have a lot of play time I could put into Zelda, SSF4, and Pilotwings Resort, so I'm not even sure I really need another game.

that's how I felt when Toys R Us had their sale on all those 3DS games. I am marginally interested in Monkeyball, Bust a Move, and The Sims, but I still have Zelda to beat so I passed.

If you have never played a Dead or Alive game before I would definetly recommend you get Dead or Alive. It may sound like a daft idea, but the team behind the 3DS game have made the game aimed at people who havnt played the previous series because the "Chronicle" mode is basically a story mode which covers the whole series and drip feeds it to you in an interactive movie style game. The 3D effects on the game are very good too and free daily DLC is a nice bonus.

I own both games and have had some good times with both, but as far as value for money you wont do better than DOA.

I'd definitely suggest, Punch Time Explosion and Blazblue.

Edit: I'm getting a 3DS tomorrow. I might get a game along with it. Should I get Ridge Racer (Pre-owned), Blaz Blue Continuum Shift II (a game which I have on consoles), or should I shell out a little more to get Ocarina of Time ( agame I don't like) and Pilot Wings Resort (50% off)?

I've really been looking at Dead or Alive: Dimensions and since I sold SSFIV, I want more portable fighting action. Though I don't miss Street Fighter at all, DOA: Dimensions looks alot more of my type. I might get it tomorrow, is it good?

Probably at this stage of the 3DS life, aside from picking up Ocarina of Time 3ds. My only other recommendation would be to go back and play any DS games you may have missed. (Ghost Trick & the ace attorney games are some of my favourite DS games)

Super Monkey Ball 3D just dropped down to $29.99 on Amazon.
It shall be the next teeny weeny 3DS title i scoop up muhaha. How is the 3D effect in the game by the way?

Hell, I'd rather just trade in my copies of Nintendog's + Cats and SSFIV for it.

@Waveboy: It can be pretty entertaining the first time around, but it offers little challenge. Most of the levels are more "maze-like," and it can be tough to tell them apart from one another. That being said, experiencing everything was definitely worth it, and by all means the game is visually pleasing. I tinkered around with the minigame modes a few times. They were fun, but not exactly addicting.

If you can get it on the cheap, that might be best. It can definitely be worth your time for at least a few hours.

In the end Pilotwings Resort was the only choice, so it all worked out, I guess.

I've played both SMB2(half of, back on the GCN) and SMB Banana Blitz, and suprisngly i enjoyed SMB Banana Blitz a lot more...Or maybe just a bit. Those Wii Remote controls felt great, and i loved the jumping mechanic as well. But it's a shame SMB3D's challenge has been knocked down including the variety stage design-wise...But eh, i plan on finishing the main game and just playing around with mini game for a few minutes so meh. And for $29.99 that's not too bad.

I really wish i would of gotten it as a launch title instead of Nintendog's....sigh* PilotWings however was great for what it was. I had a blast with that one, when ultimately i thought SSFIV was going to be my main launch game....Funny how things turned out. SSFIV while good, turned out to be quite the shallow experience. The online was hit and miss as far as lag is concerned, and the static lifeless backgrounds really started to bother me....it made the experience feel dead, as if the game wasn't complete.lol

As far as SSFIV goes, the XBOX 360 version is the one to get. Why do I choose it over the PS3 version? Because it has sharper/clearer visuals with some slightly superior contrast. Once again, PS3 owners get the multiconsole title shaft by getting a graphically inferior version.....The same deal happened with Resident Evil 5, Ghostbusters and more. The 'soft' visuals make the graphics look unimpressive....seriously. Tatsunoku vs Capcom looks miles better on my Wii. but that's because it's super crisp and clear, because the wii doesn't have some stupid BS filter which softens the visuals...RE5 looked fugly on the PS3, almost as if i were using a composite connecting...eek!

But I don't have an XBOX 360 anymore, so i have to put up with blurry looking multiconsole titles, not all are like that. The original Dead Space looked identicle to the 360 version.

MASSIVE high-five goes out to you my friend. I think that game gets an unwarranted bad rap.

The main reason I got SMB at launch was because nothing else really interested me. Sure, there was SSFIV, but I was actually waiting for Dead or Alive instead (and as it turns out, it was totally worth it). I may look into the game on the consoles, like you suggested. Didn't know about the "soft visuals" stuff you mentioned. =/ Good to know if I ever get a PS3...

Here's the PS3 version of Ghostbusters vs the XBOX 360 version. Take a look at the difference between the two for yourself. Just scroll on the image and it will shift from each version.

Notice how crystal clear the 360 version looks with all of those sharp details and textures, like in the proton pack ect ect....H ell everything looks super sharp and the colors and contrast are rich and sculpted....Then you have the PS3 version which looks super soft, while blurring out all the fine detail while the contrast is piss poor and washed out. I remember downloading the PS3 demo and it looked ugly...As if i was playing an original Xbox game using composite cables....eek!

This soft looking graphical crap including the washed out crappy contrast is what PS3 owers also had to deal with for Resident Evil 5 including me....It hampered the experience for me big time, by no means am i graphics whore....But stuff like this really bugs me.

In Canada, RE Mercenaries is dropping down to 30$ until August 4rth.

It's good and with friends it's awesome. Also it's cool to play revelations demo. There is quite a bit of things to unlock so I would recomend it.

I'm thinking of getting Pilotwings. Is it worth full price?
