Topic: 3DS Predictions

The 3DS is just getting started, so now is good time to predict what lies in its future. What games, upgrades, or other such things do you predict will be made during the handheld's lifetime? And when will they happen? This is not about what you want to happen, but what you think will happen.

I predict that there will eventually be a main series Pokemon game made, possibly next year at the soonest, but could appear sometime in 2014. I also predict a Mario Party game will be made at some point, possibly next year. I predict a Kirby game will be made, but when is anyone's guess.

What do you predict will happen to the 3DS?

Well, I say there will ne a new Donkey Kong Platformer in the near future (revealed within a year) and I think they will surprise us with a new F-Zero or Starfox game, both of which need one.

I bet there will be a FF remake on it. I hope they remake II or VI, as they are my favorite games in the series. They abused Dragon(GOKU) quest to death, so why not change pace with an FF game?

I predict a new Warioware in 2013.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a new Clubhouse Games, it could even be cross-platform with a Wii U version

There will also be remakes of Dragon Quest 7 & 8 sometime in the system's life.

In 2014 at the earliest, we'll see Super Mario 3D World with Yoshi.

A Elite Bet Agents sequel,same with Ghost Trick.

A new Layton game,and Phoenix Wright titlle.

I'm only guessing the 1st and 2nd party lineup, and only for the next couple of years, based on what I know of Nintendo's studios. I'm going with American release dates.

Lifespan: 2011 to 2017, with games still coming out as late as 2018. Lifetime sales of 100 million.

@Salnax They can't make Ranger 4. The whole appeal of Rangers was for the action to be on the touchscreen. Since that is not the 3D screen on the 3DS, they have to think of something else.

Realisticly, I think they can make another Mystery Dungeon. Those things didn't do too bad, and gathered quite the devoted fanbase.

A new Metal Gear game should come out in it's life span. It would be a crime not to do it.

But... have you seen the ending of MGS4?! I think the story seems pretty concluded...

I predict a very short lifespan for this handheld. I think 2016 will bring the launch of the next handheld.

And it will be the size of a coffee table! Bigger+Screen=Better so Einstein said.

That doesn't matter. If Kojima really wants to he could surely fine some little untold part in the MGS timeline he can blow up into a whole game.

Like Nintendogs?

Again, the new Nintendogs somehow feels out of place. In all reality, you're not technically touching the dog. Your making moves on the bottom screen, and have to synchronize with the top screen.

Pokemon Rangers is far too action/real-time oriented for such a measure to be taken.
