According to several sites (1, 2, 3) Nintendo of Europe put a release date for Paper Mario 3DS on their website which was taken down again short after. The date was March 25th 2011 and could also be the launch date of the 3DS (although it could come earlier if Paper Mario isn't a launch title).

Wow, this might be big... and considering what they usually do, it may be released earlier than that in the US!

March is when we should all be expecting it; maybe one region will get it sooner, but I'd say the chances of that happening are very low.

I was hoping it would be out this year but I wouldn't mind if it came out next year.

Well' I just meant a couple of weeks, really, but we should all be just excited just to finally see a date where it could happen.

Just keep in mind that the US got the original DS almost 4 months before Europe! So maybe you guys will have it for christmas. If that's the case and the 3DS doesn't turn out to be region locked I'm so gonna import it even if I make a little American kid cry because it didn't get a 3DS because the last one got shipped to Europe, to my house

Yeah, I think it will likely come out a few months apart in different regions. It would be hard to meet the initial worldwide demand for this if it comes out everywhere at once. Then again, having a scarcity of systems at launch would probably create a lot more hype and hysteria to convince everyone to ultimately get this (like what happened with the Wii), so maybe they would be better off releasing it everywhere at once and having nowhere near enough systems to meet the demand.

I just checked and 25th March is a Friday which is when games and consoles normally come out in Europe so it could be true.

EDIT: Oh right...Europe...never mind...but still, lol.

Nintendo would make unbelieveable amounts of money if they released the 3DS in time for Christmas.

It's more reasonable to get it out early in the year and get a huge library other than just launch games by holiday, that way they don't hurt the DS or Wii sales this year and allows for almost a year to see how sells go and change shipments accordingly so.

I know. That was (mostly) just me wishing.

Correction. ebay scalpers would make lots of money, if it turns out to have Wii-level hype.

I wonder why Nintendo does this alot. They put up a release date or a game and take it down shortly after. Methinks someone got too excited and posted it up, or Nintendo is throwing subliminal messages at people who are scourging their sites. Those with a keen-eye wins, I guess.
