If you want a dedicated gaming device with some very deep, high quality titles get a 3DS. Those who say there are none must still be living in the first 4 months of the console cycle.
If you want a console with a lot of fun timewaster games (though none nearly as deep as the 3DS) with far more multimedia options, then get an Android based tablet. Don't support Crapple. Don't support Crapple. DON'T SUPPORT CRAPPLE.

Hell no, IPad 3 pwns it.
Angry birds star wars edition alone beats any 3ds game. Plus most iPad games cost only 69p to £3-5.
Bottom line is get an IPad and support the best company ever and that is Apple.
Really! Angry Birds Star Wars is your best choice to get an ipad!? I just played it and its alright but comes nowhere near Kid Icarus or Paper Mario or half the 3ds library.

Yes, I'm biased against Apple for their overall suckage (alongside several other reasons).

Despite having less consumers, the satisfaction rate of Android phones is either much higher, or the userbase is much more vocal.
So take it what you will, I'm biased against Apple, but I'm clearly not blind, an Android phone or tablet is still a pretty great investment, or maybe even a Windows phone. Just not an iPad.

You need to look past Angry Birds and Doodle Jump and crap like that. There are games of some serious quality on there.
None reach the depth of your high-publicity 3DS release or even your favorite sleeper hit, but as you said, you get what you pay for. Only here, you either spent it on crap or something good.

If you get an Ipad, that would be like getting a peice of paper and a pencil.
If you get a 3DS you are getting stacks of paper, scissors, pens, pencils, and coloring supplies. Then nintendo would love you very much, yes.
