I was gonna make a callback to the time you actually said Phoenix Wright had a cliched, childish anime story compared to FFX or how all of your posts are basically the same thing or something but, this works too.
Look I'm not condoning the Nintendo fanboys but you're not any better (you are clearly intelligent enough that you should be but whatever).

Fair call, really. I have the things I'm fanboyish about - you probably should have mentioned Warriors or Chocobo, though - FFXIII has nothing on either of those two
Really though, I'm not saying "buy one or the other" - from personal experience I think both the iPad and 3DS are must have gadgets. But, assuming you only have money for just one of the two, I think the iPad is the better investment, because it does games great, and then does a whole lot more as well.
Plus, I felt the need to play devil's advocate in a forum that is going to have a lot of Nintendo love and Apple hate by default.
Also, Edge is not my favourite magazine, but it is the best that I can access on iPad. Famitsu, which is more or less my favourite (though not the best quality, I love how much of it there is each week) is not available on western iPads, and Game Informer is a print subscription for me.
I love magazines and read, regularly, 10 or so different ones specialised on gaming. Sorry if I gave the impression that I was in any way singling Edge out for quality, I wasn't
I can be a devil's advocate but my posts aren't all about the same thing.
Hell, I hate Apple but if this was Ipad 1 vs. any version of DS that doesn't get you new games (DS, DSi, 3DS) I'd say Ipad too. Probably. And I'm not gonna critcize Ipad games. I don't care enough to do much to acknowledge their existance, and as a Wii owner, I know what it's like for everyone to assume something has no good games.
your going to have to wait a long while if you did not pre order the 3ds. Gamestop only has enough for pre orders and because of the quake in Japan, there will be no shipments until mid july. (the chips are made in japan, and they were close to the nuke sites)
Only problem is that iPod products get revisions EVERY year and Nintendo products do every 2 years at least (Handheld wise). Plus, Nintendo handhelds don't make previous iterations look obsolete compared to Apple's products.
For all I know, iPhone 7 is currently being developed

Oh yes, this is a terrible problem. When the iPad 2 came out my first gen iPad exploded and it doesn't work anymore at all. /end sarcasm
If you want to wait 2 years to upgrade, then you can wait 2 years to upgrade. Or 3, or 4, or whatever. I've had my DS lite for like, 3 years or something, and I completely passed on the DSi and the DSi XL. It's not like you have to buy every single version of a device that ever comes out. >.<

Please take note of the "look obsolete". The original iPhone (2007) is completely outdated because of it's lack of 3G. Then, the following year, comes iPhone3G which is something the iPhone SHOULD have been from the start.
Point: Apple holds lots of stuff back. I'm not not pointing the iPad out (even though this is what the topic is about) in this instance. But you also won't see the original iPad anymore through Apple. Heck, the iPod nano 5th gen fell off the face of the earth when the inferior(to many) 6th gen rolled rolled in.
Maybe I misused the word 'obsolete'? Maybe not. And dooesn't the iPad use different chip sets compared to iPad2? Some games and apps have trouble running on iPad apparently because devs are going for the A5 chip now. Of course, some of the issues have been fixed. But that's kinda sad.
Kay, lemme fix this. I said people who bought them were silly, I didn't mean the people themselves were silly, I meant the iOS devices were silly.
IMO!
i remember why i left NL for a while now...
Look dude, sorry for being an @$$, but I was really offended by your original post and reacted accordingly. Perhaps being so brash wasn't the best route to take. Lets just forget this and move on.
But really now, how was I supposed to know you meant the iDevices were silly and not the people who bought them in your post? It was clearly saying something very different from what you wanted.
I can't decide between the 2, so tell me what you think. I've heard that the 3DS is really cool, but the iPad 2 fixed the problems of the iPad that set me back from buying it.
Are you kidding me??!!
"They say video games are bad for you? That's what they said about rock n' roll."
Geez, I'm behind the times. iPad2? Already? I can't keep up with Apple anymore. They need to stop with the product revisions. Just save yourself the sorrow, and buy an iPad 3 in a couple of months. or get the 3DS.

I agree, they keep releasing the iPhone and I just heard its no too far from iPhone 5G being released.
Man, I really like the iPad, but these product revisions!
Wait until the 10th generation. Or better yet, the 15th. Actually, you know what? If you wait until you're 60 years old, the iPad then probably will have more features than what it has now.

Wait, doesn't the 3DS come out about a year after the DSiXL come out?
I also take it that none of you people buy PCs or laptops.
Because those are obsoleted literally the minute they hit the market. Six months between upgrades is a massive time compared to how often newer, faster PC technology hits the market.

Who cares if the computer is outdated? As long as I can view nintendolife on it I'm good

God loves you

No my parents give me their old laptop.
and the difference to me is that not everybody goes and buys those 1000 dollar computers everytime a new one comes out!
People with laptops, that I know, upgrade every 5 years or so.
My family has had 2 laptops since I was born, and I will probably get my parents old one in a year or two.
