Now that everything has cooled down...well...I still love my 3DS. The only knock against it is a mostly subpar library. I've been playing mostly Find Mii, some AR Games, 3DS Camera and Ridge Racer. Other than that I've been playing just traditional DS games such as Okamiden. While I love my 3DS now. I love it's potential more.

Am playing the same games as you minus Okamiden.

I'm glad I decided until June to get it. Okamiden and Radiant Historia are almost certainly better games than anything on it right now, bugs and problems will likely be fixed by then and all the updates will be there etc.

Only bug ive had is that black error screen and only on one game so far which is easily fixed by turning off the Wi-fi.

I cant see why not because just in the same way Streetfighter saves info directly onto the system when you play it so you dont need the cartridge in to use the streetpass functions, games that include new AR cards packaged with them would be able to install any relevent AR software to use the new cards it wouldnt even have to be in a general firmware update it could be unique to the individual game providing that nintendo has the AR program to check for any additional AR game files from external software and not just inbuilt ones.

For once, I agree. I would've rather had them push it back if it was gonna be this bad. The launch lineup is all rushed and lackluster, even Pilotwings Resort and SSIV3DE...

I've been waiting for the hype to die down to get some honest opinions about the 3DS. Still planning on getting one, but not until the end of the summer. By then, most quirks should be worked out and I'll have several great games to choose from.

^ This basically

I had to make a tough decision last month. A unfinished 3ds or a ok tablet. At least with the tab I cant make a little money with it by using it a little everyday and wait for the software updates to get here. I still haven't played a 3ds, but after going broke on a tablet im looking for my next big purchase to be just about 100 percent complete out of the box. Still counting down the days until that happens with the 3ds. Amazing games, movies, and e-shop, are among the few things i wait for. Hopefully this will happen next month sometime, but if not i'll be willing to wait until that happens with this system. Even if its with the 3ds 2 or 3.

How do you know it's 100% when they may constantly add stuff to it?

About 100 percent of what I'm looking to get from it, would have been a better statement to make.

Hardware wise it's incredible, software wise it's terrible.

I feel like you guys are either a) repeating the popular line, or b) have standards that are out of control.

It's quite irksome every time I see somebody call the 3DS an "incomplete" console. Please tell me you're not holding off on buying it because it doesn't have Netflix yet. This is a game machine. It plays games. That's what it's for. I'm looking forward to the eShop too, but the fact that it's still in development and not quite here yet is not what I would consider a good thing to make a big deal out of. All it is is a different way to spend your money, after all... Just a different way of releasing games. As it is we probably won't even have many real 3DSWare games for a while after. Development takes time, and probably a lot more work than you realize.

Stop complaining and GO PLAY GAMES.

The Nintendo 3DS did not launch with all it's intended options and features.

It would seem people using the word "incomplete" are correct in how they are using the word.

Still not got one and have no intention to any time soon but intend to at some point.

Zelda is a game that I'd buy once I already had the 3DS but its not a game I would buy a 3DS for.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

Disappointed, as I've barley used it. I pretty much hated the two launch games I picked up and there's nothing else I available that I have any interest in playing (I already have two copies of SFIV and Lego CW on the Xbox). Launching with Zelda or waiting to release the system with the internet and shop functions would have been a much better choice for Nintendo and I really blame the lack of games for the poor sales so far, it's hands down one of the worst system launches ever.

That said, I don't regret buying one early. I got mine at launch for £170 and the price has already gone back up to £200 at most places, so waiting to get one with Zelda wouldn't have been the best idea. Hopefully we see a steady flow of good games from now though.

Do I regret buying the 3ds? No.
But I like many others are dissapointed with the severe lack of titles that have been coming out since its launch. I mean come on, we got like three games so far with one more for the next month? Nintendo dropped the ball on this one. I really believe they should have delayed the launch by a few months, at least until june.
If i sound bitter or something, its just that i dont want this system to fail, and sales show that it has really lost momentum.

I like my 3DS but like everyone else I am waiting for more games... and the may update. I have mostly been playing Pokemon White.

Right now I feel sad to say that my 3DS has just been gathering dust and is hardly being used at all. When I first bought it, I absolutely loved it; the 3D blew me away, I loved all of the little quirks and smiles it gave me, now, it doesn't share any of the same enjoyment at all.

I also think I made a HUGE mistake by getting Ridge Racer 3D as my only launch title. I finished the Grand Prix mode to 100% in the first week, and this is not the worst of it...
Many years back (2006 I think it was), I bought the original PSP on it's release date with Ridge Racer, and I remember being blown away with the system overall and in the end I came across glad that I chose Ridge Racer. It was a fun game, it had a fair bit of content and demonstrated the graphical capabilities of the system very well.
Sadly, it's not at all the same situation with the 3DS.

My problem with the 3DS version of Ridge Racer is that it seems to be identical to the PSP version of the game with a few things taken out of it, and then the hardest bit to accept: the graphics are a major step back. Yep, after recently firing up my PSP version of Ridge Racer, I've found out that it is almost superior in every way to the 3DS version, minus the 3D effect of course. Though on the 3DS after finishing one race, I forget I'm even looking at a 3D image until something from the road hits my screen, at which point I'm far from being dazzled. I think this is down to the fact that we see 3D all the time in our everyday lives and think nothing of it.

I'm still going to keep my 3DS, afterall, I'm really looking forward to the next update with the browser and the e-Shop. There is, however, part of me that is thinking I'd have been better off holding out for the NGP. I know the NGP lacks 3D and obviously it doesn't have Nintendo's killer titles, but where the heck are they for christ's sakes?

There's one thing I do have to admit though, the 3DS does feel like a stable system that has been designed rather well. I definitely prefer it to my other version of the DS, which is the phat. Also, the resolution problem with playing DS games on the 3DS isn't really a problem for me, I prefer the softer look in all honesty, and the colours seem to look more bright and vivid on the 3DS's screen.

Slapshot

I'm now on 3DS #2 like many others, and this one hasn't had issues. My first 3DS had sound, 3D and black-screen issues!

The launch line-up is quite disappointing with only Pilotwings, Rayman 3D and Ghost Recon holding my interest for any length of time. The system needs a killer-app that isn't a remake of an older title and that will come, but hopefully not before too long.

AR Games are a nice surprise that I hope gets expanded on with eShop!

I'm actually disappointed with the graphics too! I really enjoy the 3D elements, but after all the hype of the system being far superior to the Wii, I don't see this at all! For everyone who said it was capable of HD graphics, they are wrong! Hopefully the system can be pushed and we will see better output down the line, but so far I'm unimpressed, especially when the system cost $250.

I do enjoy my 3DS immensely. I've had a blast with Pilotwings and Rayman 3D, but Nintendo already turning their focus on Project Cafe/Stream has me a bit worried. Once the 3rd parties like Atlus and XSEED start bringing 3DS games to market, then I'll be extremely happy with it!

I have to say I'm still playing my 3DS very regularly, though I'm keen to get into the eShop content. Hurry up with that update, Nintendo!

I'm mainly playing Ghost Recon at the moment. God it's a long game, but it's immersive and there's plenty of content even after the campaign is finished. I'm currently absorbed with a re-run of the campaign on the hardest difficulty setting. I dip into SSFIV and Ridge Racer every now and then. I'm on 97% completion in Ridge Racer, the last events are pretty tricky...

I think the potential for 3DS is fantastic though, and we'll have the eShop and Zelda released pretty close together, so I'm really looking forward to that.

Fun, but definitely overpriced for the curent game line up and features available so far. But again, it's fun, and the 3D is really unique and I'm glad I bought it and I know I'll love it after OoT Kid Icarus, Mario Kart, Paper Mario, Tales of the Abyss, and the eShop/VC come out.

DS games play on it just fine and the D Pad is great!

I'm looking forward to the Summer releases.
