@Yellowkoopa: Nintendo usually only does this in the final year of the console. I believe the Wii Selects were introduced in 2011 or 2012. It's a good way of getting more sales out of your games, to sell the game to people who might've not bought the game if it was kept at the original MSRP.
To me it looks like those choices are to promote upcoming or other 2015 games in the same franchise that have same or similar gameplay.
A Link Between Worlds -> Tri Force Heroes
Yoshi's New Island -> Yoshi's Woolly World
Mario Party Island Tour -> Mario Party 10
Mario Tennis Open -> Mario Tennis Ultra Smash
Star Fox 64 3D -> Star Fox Zero
Nintendogs + Cats -> ? (Maybe the first mobile game)
Other than A Link Between Worlds, all these games seem like games that had disappointing sales that they want to promote.
Or is that the point? That's probably the point.
That is the point. I'm assuming that the likes of Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, the main series Pokémon games and the like are still selling quite well, so it makes little sense to discount these when customers are willing to pay full price for them. Most of the proposed Nintendo Selects games here have already been "bargain bin" fodder for a while (pricing-wise), at least in Australia.
