Does anyone know whether these 2 games are the same?

The 3DS version is sort of a "best of" collection, so no it's not the exact same version.

Pocketgamer.com claims that the 3DS version of NES Remix does not support 3D functionality.

I think I might pass.........

Looks like Nintendo was looking for a quick solution to pad out the light fall 2014 3DS schedule.

The only way I will get it is if it has a discount for owning the two Wii U ones on the same NNID (And it is a big one).

So 3DS users get a gimped version months after the game has been out on Wii U, even though the 3DS is perfectly capable of handling the same version as the Wii U... When third parties do the same thing to Nintendo consoles, Nintendo fanboys rage, but when Nintendo does it nobody minds.

Leaving in the best games of the remixes is a "gimp"?

The only ones I didn't like were the original NES - Golf and Pinball.

It seems to me the only reason to get this game is to not have a Wii U

Well this game has the best games, online leaderboards which isn't in the WiiU Games and as always a special different version of Super Mario Bros this time being Speed Mario Bros
