I had issues with Steam in the past, causing problems all the time.

PictoChat was cool I guess, for when you were with a bunch of friends and drawing pictures and stuff. But Nintendo can do better than that..

I agree. I don't get why they took away PictoChatt. They should have made it online instead of taking it away completely.

Looking forward to: No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again

As much as you may dislike Steam, it is probably the strongest for communication.

i wouldnt go as far as saying pictochat was great. but at least, it was something.
we have none yet on the 3ds, else than a simple VERY short sentence. barely.
we need a chat accessible like the note or the web browser is.

but i remember that nintendo said they were scared of phallic words or other things youre supposed to say in church only. maybe thats why we dont have it. kids hear them all over the school or tv shows, but at least, their 3DS wont have them words.

Yeah, i want WiiWare, DSiWare and 3DS eShop to be combined into one account so you could do Instant messaging between all.

Pictochat would've been fine if you could immediately msg your friends on your friend list, but they took any form of chat out, along with many other features older DS systems had, like an alarm clock.

I just don't think they were thinking.
Ultimately a Skype app would be nice, but that'll probably never happen.

I really would just love if they added the message center from the wii. I really don't understand why they wouldn't add pictochat online.

Nintendo has to stop being our parents, and let the real parents do their job.

They would if they weren't a family friendly company

Did you ever think that they didn't do PictoChat again, or make a PictoChat 3DS because they are planning an actual message service? I mean, why have PictoChat AND a message service that would pretty much antiquate the PictoChat?

Nintendo tends to announce stuff wayyyyyyyyy ahead of time. Why would they not say anything about it if they were planning it? Especially if it would be another incentive to buy a 3ds during this time that they are trying so hard to convince people to buy one.

Yeah, I was surprised to see there were no messaging features at all. Even the Wii can send messages to registered friends and whatnot.

Actually nintendo usually keeps things very secretive.

I'd even be content with enough characters to actually form a cohesive sentence as a status update. I feel like that's really the only thing about the 3DS that I'm not satisfied with. Why have a friend list if I can't talk to these people or even convey my personality at all to them?

When I close my eyes, I see pixilated blood.

The online is not awful. I do think they should update the status message to like a 140 character twitter thing.

You haven't used the iOS App Store, PSN or XBLA, have you?

The 3DS' online is truely awful.

Yea but how. It works fine for me. I find online matches easily and seems faster then ds. Yea the messaging isn't great butnit is a lot better then before.

For once, I actually agree with your strange sense of pessimism.

When the only means of communicating with your friends is by typing a 20 character status and selecting your favorite game, then yes, it's awful.

If it had a messaging system anywhere near as similar as Steam's messaging system is, it'd be a huge help.

Yea but all you really need to say is play "this"(random game name) All I am saying is it is a better experience from before not awful.

We have a saying about these parts: you can shine a piece of poop all you like, but at the end of the day it's still poop (slightly censored for decorum).

The 3DS' online is shiny poop, but it's still poop.
