Topic: 3DS LL (XL) thread.

What im REALLY giddy about is playing VC games on ORIGINAL resolution!!!! Now we can see it better? HUH WAVEBOY?! YOU AGREE?! Also I herd its a Matte finish, the start, select and home are now buttons, and the stylus is back on the right side.

It's the same resolution, that means games will look the same. Just in bigger pixels.

It also means I'll be able to play VC and DS games in their original resolution without killing my eyes.

YES!!!! I want it for that alone! Morph gets it!

What's this about VC and DS games? They'll actually look better on this? Whaaa

This has the same pixel count as the current 3DS.

It would be IMPOSSIBLE for games in 1:1 mode to look blurrier on this than on the 3DS.

I'm sure there's nothing to worry about in that regard

Since we can put it in original resolution you wont have to squint your eyes since it will be bigger!

So seeing as the pixels are the same and the screens are bigger what does that mean for the 3DS graphics? Anyone have any idea? Will they look any different?

I'm sorry, but the 3DS XL just looks plain ugly... I'm happy they got rid of the matte finish, too much of a dust and finger print magnet, but what puts me off is the size of the thing! It's hideously huge, it doesn't look like a portable any more. I never bought the DSi XL because of the size of it and I'll probably never buy this one either.

The mistake with this console though is there is no second circle pad, which means they'll have to scale up the CPP to an XL version and on a console that huge already, I'd hate to see the CPP attached to that monster...

On a side note, images aren't working now, just keeps showing errors... now to hunt for that Post Reply button...

The only thing the gloss on the 3DS has going for is its shiny and I can do my hair and make up. That's it.

I like how it looks but the White looks better. Damn it Reggie why do you hate White? I would have accepted silver too!

I wouldnt be at all surprised if they announce different colors for the 3DSXL for the holiday season.

Most Hottoble design ever. Hate that excesively round corners .-. Proportions are atrocious.

I like it a lot better than the original. Looks a lot more comfortable, the design looks nicer and more ergonomic and thank god they went away from the horrible 'layer' design of the original 3DS.

I'll be waiting for the white one myself. Can't wait to get it.

Well actually no, if anything they're going to look better. The 3DS had to slightly downsize from the DSi resolution, and in turn gave it a bad resolution. This way you'll be able to get DSi resolution (maybe DSi XL). Jumping to conclusions that are in no way logical there, Lolli.

I would really like it if they were, but I'm not entirely convinced. In the pictures you pointed out they do look matte, but look at the glare on the bottom screen in this picture. It is nearly identical to the glare on the bottom screen of the regular 3DS sitting next to it.

I'm feeling kind of torn on this one. I could see games looking really great on those massive screens and I am happy to see that the headphone jack isn't centered anymore (although I have no idea why that pleases me). I also imagine it would be great for Netflix, but I really hate the color choices. Is it too much to ask for just one orange system?!?!?! Or at least a solid black one? I'd even be more interested in the Black and Silver one Europe is getting. The red and blue look too much like oversized legos.

Also did anyone else notice that they kept the raised border around the bottom screen?

i cant believe the new model doesnt have a second circle pad. so funny xD

I actually prefer the Smoother, rounded look of the XL compared to the segmented ridged style of the original 3DS, It looks cleaner that way. I'm pretty sure the pixel density will look fine since it would be the same size as a 720p tv. Plus, you wont find a finger print ridden, screen scratching 3DS in this new one, So when some new colors come out in a year or two, I'll be replacing my current 3ds.

I certainly want one... bigger screens are always better when you have poor eyesight like me. Im glad Nintendo does not ignore the senior players!
