Hey Waltz, this might not be the time or the place, but I sold my Kindle Fire yesterday and now I need a new tablet. The iPad mini (assuming it exists) is on my shortlist. Excite!
I have an iPad. It's a neat little device and it can do a lot of cool things.
However, I don't think it is an ideal platform for games. You'll find a lot fun stuff on the app store like strategy games, puzzle, or sim type of games. But a lot of the games where you have to control a character aren't very fun. I'm talking shooters, platformers, adventure games and stuff like that. You'll find much better stuff else where.
When it comes to games on the iPad it really depends on the genre. There's a ton of good stuff but a lot of games don't play well without a controller.

The iFad is a stupid idea. It took a tablet computer, and dumbed it down, essentially stripping away the computer aspect. That's why I want a Windows 8 tablet computer. It still has the function of a computer, but it's a tablet. It's like an original tablet computer that's more tablet optimized. A hybrid of sorts. Now get back on topic.
I wouldn't call it a stupid idea because the iPad has sold millions of units. I used to think the same way until we actually got one (we have 2 now), and it's a very useful little gadget without the complications of a computer.

I hope the 3DS has Miiverse on it. But when I think about it the top screen may be to small for a normal 3DS. Miiverse would look better on a 3DS XL i may be wrong
The 3DS needs itunes, also the apple store and it should have an apple design on it and safari browser. Also instead of a clamshell design it should be shaped more like a tablet. You know what just forget the 3DS and make it into an Ipad. LOL just trollin since @ComicMii thinks we should all pretend to live in an alternate universe where the iPad doesn't exist and it doesn't sell millions.

Quite literally the only place on the planet you'll see anyone think the eShop is a decent replacement for the App store is a Nintendo fan site.
And even then it looks just plain silly.

To be entirely serious for a moment now, the 3DS is in desperate need of an eShop that isn't an embarrassment. Compare the weekly eShop content to any other download platform and you'll see just how far behind Nintendo really is.
And don't say "Nintendo's getting better at it," because Nintendo has been promising to get better at it for two years now, and it is improving at a slower rate than anyone else. So "getting better" at Nintendo's rate is a complete fail.

That only helps prove my point. The fact I didn't know about it, someone who uses my 3DS regularly and goes on NIntendolife everyday, only accentuates a crucial problem with the eShop. How much more unlikely is it that someone turning it on for the first time will no what to do?
The fact of the matter is that I'm able to easily browse games on Xbox Live, and that is a system interface that is heavily critisized by gamers and developers alike. The options are clear and right there, yet people complain because, hey, there's a ton of room for improvement. The eShop is so much incredibly worse it's not even funny.
You must have tapped that magnifying glass at least once when you were on the eShop... it takes you straight to that search screen. Not to mention you can get to it via the "Software Search" tab on the main screen next to "Charts" and "Watch List". I don't how Nintendo could have made it any easier than having a search function AND an advanced search button next to it right there on the main screen of the eShop along with a tab, what else do you possibly want them to do? Release an eShop guide?
@OlympicCho Hey, at least it's better than the Wii Shop Channel, that was terrible even by the standards of '06. They've made slight improvements and it's very welcome, rather than seeing the negatives of the eShop think about where they came from and see where they are now. The 3DS' online capabilities are at least better than the Wii's... this is like the industrial revolution compared to the Wii's stonehenge. :3

Here's the thing about improvement: if you don't improve faster than your opponents, then you're going to get left further and further behind. If the console race were on a race track, Sony, Microsoft and Apple would have lapped Nintendo at least once, and getting closer to a second time.
It is absolutely crucial that the Wii U is not just an improvement on the 3DS, it has to be an improvement on the SEN and iTunes. And the 3DS needs to be updated to match.

I personally think that Nintendo isn't (metaphorically speaking) in a race with Microsoft, Sony and Apple, but are actually in a race of it's own. You see, Nintendo likes to do things a bit differently to others, so it isn't fair to compare Nintendo to Sony, Microsoft or Apple, because Nintendo is in another league to them. They even said themselves that they are not interested in what other companies are doing, they are just interested in what they themselves are doing.
Although it is true that Sony, Microsoft and Apple are 'miles in front' Of Nintendo in terms of technological advances, Nintendo likes to do their own thing, even if it makes them less advanced technologically.
Anyway, Nintendo wouldn't have had the success they did have with the Wii and DS if they tried to make better online and graphics; those systems were so successful because Nintendo purposely made them with lower graphical power, so that they were cheap, and therefore attracting the 'casual' crowd, or the "masses", and Nintendo sold hundreds of millions of systems and games for the systems.

And yet Wiiware was a failure and the eShop is failing (in terms of market penetration and profitability more than game quality. Even Wiiware had quality games) Nintendo can pretend it exists in isolation all it wants, but as consumers become increasingly connected, mobile and online, it's going to be more and more important to have your devices connected in to full-featured and engaging online networks.
Why do you think that despite being in such financial difficulty Sony still acquired a Cloud gaming company? Why do you think Microsoft has worked so hard to get everything connected? Why do you think Apple has been so successful in the first place. These three are not companies run by stupid people. Not that Nintendo is, but it simply lacks the resources to do what it needs to do.
