No. I said it was a fact that the iPad has great (not average, not short time-wasters, great) games.

I never said that 3DS games are inferior. I just said there were less of them. Just like there are fewer dollars in my bank account compared to Apple's.

Then there's the fact that controlling things with JUST a touchscreen takes out allot of the fun.

You and I clearly have access to very different App stores.

I have access to the same app store you do, and every game mechanic I see is extremely simple. There's also the fact that fingers have a tendency to block the screen. If they made a controller it would probably be okay.

So you haven't played either of Spiderweb software's RPGs, Civilization Revolution, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Battle Academy, The World Ends With You, Final Fantasy Dimensions, Chaos Rings, Chaos Rings 2, Ghost Trick, Dungeon Defenders, Zen Pinball, Wizardry Labyrinth of Lost Souls, Puzzle Quest 2, Greed Corp HD, Game Dev Story, Mechinarium, Scribblenaughts Unlimited, Real Racing 2 HD, The Bard's Tale, Call of Cthulhu: Wasted Land, Puerto Rico, Bastion, Horn...

This list keeps going, BTW.

I have an iPad. It's a neat little device and it can do a lot of cool things.

However, I don't think it is an ideal platform for games. You'll find a lot fun stuff on the app store like strategy games, puzzle, or sim type of games. But a lot of the games where you have to control a character aren't very fun. I'm talking shooters, platformers, adventure games and stuff like that. You'll find much better stuff else where.

When it comes to games on the iPad it really depends on the genre. There's a ton of good stuff but a lot of games don't play well without a controller.

I won't deny that there are lots of great games on iOS (I'm particularly fond of Chaos Rings), but there are certainly more than 5 or so great 3DS games as well.

OoT3D, MGS3D, KI:U, Tales of the Abyss, Theatrythm FF, KH: DDD, SF643D, SM3DL, NSMB2, MK7, VVVVVV, MSF!, Mutant Mudds, Family Tennis 3D (have yet to see a negative review, surprisingly), 3D Classics: Kirby's Adventure, 3D Classics: Kid Icarus, Dead or Alive Dimensions, SSFIV3D, Samurai Warriors: Chronicles (I know you'd appreciate this, Cho), Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy, Bit Trip Saga, Nano Assault, Pushmo, Sakura Samurai, Dillon's Rolling Western, 3D Classics: Xevious, Resident Evil: Revelations.

I'm sure I missed a few in that list, and that's not even counting the VC greats like Metroid II, Sword of Hope II, Wario Land, ect. (I see no reason to exclude these games in this debate).

I'm not trying to say that iOS is bad (heck, I'm not even saying 3DS is better), but the 3DS certainly has quite a large catalouge of great games for gamers to dig into.

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

It's amazing to think we've actually managed to arrive at the conclusion that two gaming devices might both have great games on them.

That's a first for Nintendolife. I'm impressed.

I would like a Forum Update: OlympicCho can't post in 3DS topics about iPad being godly and then seeing everybody else opinions as dirt - thanks Ant!

2. Better organization of the eShop. The eShop is horribly organized. The browsing experience on it is simply impossible. If you don't have any intention of buying a specific game on the eShop, then there's no reason to be there. That's fine for people like us that regularly check up with the hottest games via the internet, but for people who don't and want to window shop then there's really nothing for them. One cannot search by genre, platform, ranking, or price, and it is truly a detriment towards the overall experience of just trying to find something you might potentially like. It's incredibly archaic and needs to be improved.

My 3DS can search by Genre, Publisher and Price... so this brings me to an all important question... WTF are you doing wrong?!

Oh and when you have searched, you can set the titles from 5 stars to 0 stars....

Yes, there's tons of room for improvement.

The biggest one for me would be the online interface. There's a few things Nintendo could and should do that would enhance the overall online experience on the 3DS.
1. Allow the ability to instantly talk to friends (i.e. a messaging system). This is something this system desparately needs. Yeah, it's cool and all that I can join my friends at games of Mario Kart, but if I want to actually do so, then I have to hope one of them is playing it. And that's not counting the rest of games that don't have that function, making online with friends impossible without some serious organization. Since the 3DS has the option of always being online (which most people utilize) it'd be pretty easy to put in. Simply have a message appear and the orange light show when someone wants to play with you. If you don't want to recieve them, simply turn the function off. It'd be that simple
2. Better organization of the eShop. The eShop is horribly organized. The browsing experience on it is simply impossible. 3. Demos for every game released, or at least more then the paltry amount currently on. This may be a bit harder to implement, but for any game that costs more than $2, it'd be nice to know what you're getting into before you buy it. XBLA has a trial for every single game, and though a few demos have turned me off, the vast majority lead to me buying a game I otherwise would not have even looked at.

yeah i had to search for bomb monkey .

@OlympicCho I gotta agree with you on this one. I always post from my iPad and I could defend that statement. The games on iPad are not average. THEY'RE ABSOLUTE GARBAGE AND I AM SICKENED WITH MYSELF FOR BUYING SUCH RUBBISH!

@Chris720
That only helps prove my point. The fact I didn't know about it, someone who uses my 3DS regularly and goes on NIntendolife everyday, only accentuates a crucial problem with the eShop. How much more unlikely is it that someone turning it on for the first time will no what to do?

The fact of the matter is that I'm able to easily browse games on Xbox Live, and that is a system interface that is heavily critisized by gamers and developers alike. The options are clear and right there, yet people complain because, hey, there's a ton of room for improvement. The eShop is so much incredibly worse it's not even funny.

Not true at all. I have a lot of respect for people who can articulate rational opinions, even if I don't agree with them.

I rarely see a rational opinion when any of Nintendo's competitors are concerned on this forum, though.

Since when has he seen other's opinions as dirt?
And last time I checked, iOS has had way more quality games than the eShop has. Yeah, it may not be as high a ratio, but if we're talking sheer numbers here it isn't even a contest. Heck, games like Real Racing 1 and Rolando came out years ago, and they still blow away most of the stuff on the eShop (in my eyes at least, especially since they center their gameplay around the device rather than shoehorning fake buttons on there).
