Aw no, I hate my GameCube to death. I feel like the only one. All the games sucked, and the launch lineup was bad. Look at the main games for it: The Mario was the worst one ever, the Zelda was OK but spawned a crappy DS sequel, and I hate first person shooters so the Metroids I disliked. Also, SSBM isn't near as good as SSBB. The MarioKart is gimmicky and stupid.

Frankly, I'm all good about sequels but remakes... I'll pass. Notable exception: F-Zero GX and Pikmin 2 were freaking AWESOME. I want those in my pocket

Remaking games is so lazy

You lost me at "all the games sucked". Super Mario Sunshine might not have been the best, but it doesn't deserve the hate people give it.

The GameCube also happens to be the pinnacle of Zelda games. Wind Waker and Twilight Princess are the best things that ever happened to the series.

I hate first-person shooters, too, but what does that have to do with any of this? Metroid Prime is not a first-person shooter. I used to think that nothing would ever top Super Metroid, and Metroid Prime is the only game that has ever proven me wrong.

Okay, so you don't like Melee because Brawl, which came out seven years later, is better? There have been much better Mario games since SMB, but that doesn't make it bad.

Double Dash is one of the only Mario Kart games that isn't "gimmicky and stupid". It's not even close to as good as the SNES game, but it's still several steps above the rest of the series.

So anyway, the GameCube was one of Nintendo's better consoles. I still don't want developers to dump resources into updated ports and then pass them off as "remakes".

I would like to see Wind Waker, and maybe a sequel to super mario sunshine.

@thesmorganator: I stand by what I said. Wind Waker is hugely responsible for getting Zelda moving in the right direction, and Twilight Princess continues with that momentum. I hope Skyward Sword keeps going this way, because right now Twilight Princess is the only 3D game that accurately reflects the series. Either way, the GameCube is a massive milestone for The Legend of Zelda.

Remakes are a good thing its 1:a sure fire way to makes some sales for nintendo 2: the games are old so also hard to find as of late. A good example of this would be Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D see good money and great fun!

I agree with your first point, but re-releases happen more often than they should, and Nintendo can make enough money without them. But Ocarina of Time being hard to find? The N64 cartridge isn't rare at all, and any Wii owner can download it for 25% of the 3DS version's price.

Would love to see an Eternal Darkness sequel or an exclusive new Hitman 3D game. Yet even a remake to them would be satisfying.

you might be a rare one, because i loved it. Super smas bros. i thought it was better in a lot of ways than the wii version.i played it for years. YEARS.
mario sunshine wasnt the worst, neither the best. it was a middle range, and i particularly loved the tropical and summer mood to it. it was quite refreshing. I still did it 2 times, but never cared to finish it 100%.

actually, windwaker was great until i got pissed at the boat. i found it annoying to travel with. i loved the DS sequel much more, as they made the travel time and the map much more convenient of use. i might be a rare case on this one. spirit tracks in the same style was awesome too. also wind waker featured puzzles that i already saw in other games ?! weak !

Metroid prime was a love/hate relationship for me. I loved it a lot, then i learned to hate it will all my will. the only great thing i still give it is theart direction quality.
metroid should have stayed 2D, a sidescrolling adventure.

mario kart was...ok. but only in mutliplayer, with a minimum of 2 other friends. elseway, it sucked balls compared to the other ones.
never got to pikmin games, and i wish i could !

and zelda twilight princess... the peak of quality in zelda games, i loved it so much!
and the gamecube gave me sonic adventure battle 2. i played this one until i bled. i totally lloved it. this is one i wanna see a sequel or a remake on my 3ds.
it also gave me Chibi-robot. awesome stuff, but came in late.
paper mario was AWESOME. perfect little rpg.
batallion war, ever played it ? soul calibur 2 ? beyond good and evil ? (i did this one 3 times! easy but fun as hell) eternal darkness was something excellent too.
have you even tried these titles? because these gave me great time, i dont see how nay of them cannot be memorable to someone.
sure the library wasnt as complete as playstation consoels, or even the DS, but it gave me quality times for sure. and for cheap.

Gimme a sequel to Battalion Wars and I'll be more than happy =)
