@komicturtle92 - Yeah, I like the eShop presentation and loading screen too. It's certainly a lot quicker than the DSiWare shop, and it's attractive and amusing to watch while the download is happening.

Still can't think of a better place to kill some time.

Waiting for Animal Crossing 3DS - it's taking forever.

Just Thought I would put this here. The dsiware games have just been put on the eshop. I checked earlier and nothing was there but just now I look and they are on there.

I like the ratings charts for all software. everyone make sure to rate your downloaded games on your 3DS so I know what's the best to get

I'm sure someone has complained about this somewhere else, but what's the deal with some of those dsiware gameplay videos? They're ridiculously small and only on the top screen. Does anyone have a good reason why they can't just do full screen video?

Honestly, I could't agree more. I'm liking the 3DS eShop FAR better than both the DSiShop, Wii Shop Channel and I'm even going so far as to say it's almost better than the Nintendo Channel on the Wii. At lest, the eShop has little to no lagg when streaming videos compared to the Nintendo Channel on the Wii. I really like the visual aesthetics, easy to navigate lay-out and graphical design of the 3DS eShop. My only complaint is that there are no eShop 3D games designed for the 3DS in the store but I'm not all bent out of shape since we know that WayForward's 'Mighty Switch Force' is on the way.

I also was really impressed with the videos and images of Cubic Ninja, Rabbids in Time 3D and BlazBlue Continumn Shift II for the 3DS.

I prefer the eShop FAR more than the Wii Channel or DSi Shop. The Virtual Console is a big huge SUCCESS and I love it! It has already gotten me so much more into the classic Gameboy games and stuff.

My list of bought eShop games:
VIRTUAL CONSOLE:
Tennis
Super Mario Land
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
Donkey Kong

DSiWare:
Arcade Hoops Basketball
Plants vs. Zombies

  • And that's it besides all the 3D Trailers! xP
But what I'm really excited for is the actual '3DSWare' games. So I am saving some money in my eShop for those.

Anyone else buy lots of games already?

i can't even buy a game: I don't have a credit card and can't go to a local store to check if there are eShop cards, cause I need to do a lot of stuff.

I haven't bought a game yet ryanthehedgehog because I'm saving up for Super Mario 3DS, Luigi's Mansion, Animal Crossing 3DS, 3DSWare eShop games and the PSVita.

I do like the way that the content is layed out in the eShop, but I hate the big blocky icons that take up so much space on the bottom screen! I think it would be a good idea for Nintendo to allow us to zoom out and see all of the icons layed out in a grid format, similar to the way the 3DS home screen works. It would make more sense to do it this way and make it MUCH easier to navigate around.

I also agree with everyone else who says that DSiWare should have it's own section that works in a similar way to the actual store on the DSi. I hate having to read about DSiWare titles on the internet and then search for them in the eShop.

I'm fairly sure Nintendo will improve the eShop over time. Afterall, they do see it as a major piece of the 3DS.

I'm just wondering now how Netflix/other video streaming services will work in-conjunction with the eShop. Will they be a seperate App download from the eShop, or will they be integrated? Only time will tell.

youre right. the menu navigation is a mess. its much too big ! the home menu did it right, they should do it like this.

some kind of catalog with ALL games, from ANY section could be in.

thanks for pointing that out, I hadn't noticed those trailers before. Too bad those videos aren't in 3D though. I hope having eshop trailers that show off how a game uses the 3D becomes standard.

It's Thursday and there's supposed to be new stuff, right? Well I was just on the e-shop this morning trying to find out. It's such a mess. Icons say 'new' above them, but it's not new, it's been there a while now. The only way to find that out is to look inside each one and then you find out there's nothing new in there. So I end up looking in all the icons. Yet in the middle of last week there were 2 new Robin Williams videos. So I just never know when to look on there.
And I'm really tired of looking up the skirt of the girl in the Dead or Alive advertisement. Why does that deserve it's own icon for this long?

Here's what I don't understand:

Kirby TV says it is going to get an episode on Thursday, it gets an episode on Thursday (in NZ).
Eshop says it is going to get titles on Thursday, it gets them on Friday (in NZ)

It's just an empty pot...

So, it's the last day of June now. Where are the prepaid cards you promised to release, Nintendo of Europe? NOWHERE! Why do you have to make promises you can't even keep? It's not like printing some cards with codes on them takes this long. You've had nearly a month to prepare the cards that should have been released before or at the same time as the launch of eshop. Yet, when the deadline comes, there's is sign of the cards, or an update to the message where they tell the prepaid cards will be available at the end of June. I want to buy the games, NOE, why can't you provide me with the means to do so? Owning a credit card shouldn't be a requirement for the people who want to spend their money on the games on eshop! I ain't going to go ask my dad to use his credit card for me.

The longer this farce keeps up, the madder I'll get. NOE is acting like they have to develop Skyward Sword or the next Smash Bros, when all they have to do is release some stupid little cards. But sure, keep torturing me and delay the release of the cards even further so I can never get the 3DS VC titles I've wanted since the eshop was launched. I keep watching the trailers for Link's Awakening, Super Mario Land, DK, and Kirby's Dreamland every day, thinking how wonderful it would be to finally play these games. But NOE basically tells me to eff off if I don't have a credit card and to wait for the day when they're so bored they don't have anything better to do than get their lazy asses up and release the frickin' cards.

I am not trolling, neither am I sarcastic. I am upset I'm denied the pleasure of playing these games and that a bunch of suits doesn't consider it their top priority to have the second payment option, which is just as equal to paying with a credit card, available for me, and gives me empty promises of a tentative release date. I'll still give the benefit of doubt and check if the cards are available on 7/1, but if not, I know NOE doesn't give a crap about when I get to play these games.

I got an e-mail from Nintendo stating that the 3D E3 trailers will be removed from the eShop on July 7th. I don't know if that's a bad omen in regards to the future of 3D video previews of upcoming 3DS titles in the eShop?

I'm sorry the situation is so dire over there right now. Perhaps if you have the money to buy a prepaid card you could just give the money to your dad in exchange for an equal amount off his card? That's what I used to do before I had my own card when I couldn't make it to the store to get a points card. Otherwise looks like your out of luck until NOE wakes up. At least they care enough to release Xenoblade over there though

This may be old news to everybody else, but I discovered an aspect of the eShop today that I have not encountered before.
I went to purchase some DSiWare (which is stored in System memory rather than on the SD card) for which I had insufficient System memory available, and I got a message up offering to take me to Data Management to move/delete some software. So I accepted this, got taken to Data Management, freed up some space and closed it down, after which I was automatically transferred back to the eShop and to the game I was about to buy!
I'm pretty certain when I was in that situation a couple of weeks ago that this service was not offered - I think I would have noticed. So, possibly a new, and quite convenient facility?

Still can't think of a better place to kill some time.
