Topic: 3DS: DSi, PSP, and Ipod Touch combo?

All the DSi assests are in so don't think about those things, think about the new features. The slider pad is like the analog nub on the PSP and has graphics that are at the PS2 and Wii levels. Then there's the accelerometer and gyroscope for tilting like on the Ipod Touch. It'll be able to play videos and music like the PSP and Touch. Don't you guys agree?

To a degree, I mean on paper it does seem that way. I just hope it will be able to perform as well in the multimedia aspect, that would be great, so I don't have to carry around multiple devices. Not a deal breaker, would just be nice.

That and hopefully the internet aspect is as improved as I am hoping it to be, one thing all three devices are less then spectacular when it comes to connecting with others.

I think you misread his post...reread it, he's just listed the features it has in common with the other devices and I dont think he mentioned phone at all.

It sounded to me if he wanted to add all the best features of the 3DS,DSi,PSP,and the iPhone, to make some Mega Handheld.

Exactly, i never said anything about a phone. I was talking about the Touch, not the Iphone. It wouldnt be a mega handheld unless they really did combine all of those systems. to me it just seems like they took some incredible things from to two other systems and combined them with dsi.

The iTouch doesn't have a gyro. The iPhone 4 does. They both have accelerometers.

Maybe Nintendo should get out of the hardware business and just make games for the iPhone/iPad/iTouch =p

It would be a tad chunky, but a console/handheld that can play DS, DSi, PSP and possibly 3DS would be interesting and cool but expensive and chunky......Just sharing what came to mind when I saw this thread.

Actually, I've heard several times over that the graphics are actually close if not on par with PS360.

In math, but in math the PS3 could probably handle a billion million polygons. Considering development constraints and budget limits, I REALLY REALLY doubt we'll see many games that look like 360 games, if it even can and if any at all.
All I know is none of Nintendo's games looked 360 ish and the good 3rd party games looked like Xbox to me but with WAY better lighting.

The 3DS's touch screen is still limited to one input as opposed to the Touch and I honestly doubt we'll see media support on part with the Touch or PSP.
I even question the online capabilities, but I beg the heavens that Nintendo will actually TRY this time when it comes to online anything.

I'd just be happy with a browser that doesn't suck and a more open app store where free apps can be put in or just cheaper apps because 99% of the apps on DSiWare are way overpriced.

It's better than all three put together. But I'll pass on the 3DS I think. I'm waiting for the 4DS (you can FEEL the game!). It's only a matter of time, people.

The 3DS has the potential, but we've yet to see the reality. Sadly, it'll probably end up supporting just one audio format, just one (3D) video format, and be stuck with the scaled-down Opera Browser. Here's hoping Nintendo does the 3DS justice on the media and internet fronts.

And the 4DS is the one that moves you through time, sucking up hours and hours before you even... wait, that already exists.

@protozone I think he's referring to those 4D rides (with stuff like moving seats and air blowing)...
