Topic: 3DS DLC for upcoming games?

So basically what this is, is basically discussing what games you'd like to see come out with DLC for the 3DS and if Nintendo will ever do it and/or how it could be implemented into the upcoming games.

For example: Ever since Mario Kart Wii came out all those years ago, you got some challenges that came out every month or so that was pretty much classified as DLC, and with Mario Kart 3DS coming out later this year, do you think it would be possible for Nintendo to start incorporating DLC into its games? And I'm not talking about SSFIV's figurines or DoA's clothes, but maybe new vehicle parts, maps/courses, characters, colours/colors or maybe even a limited edition vehicle you can recieve via SpotPass. This could be the same with StarFox, Luigi's Mansion 2 and so on and so forth.

We've already got it with Pokedex 3D, DoA, SSFIV etc. so I don't see why not and with the 3DS' capabilities, anything is possible. So what do you think? Will Nintendo incorporate this into its upcoming games and if so how would you like to see it happen? Share your ideas here.

Sorry if there is already a topic like this, couldn't find one.

Huh... that'd be a good idea, I think the way the 3DS is going with its SpotPass feature, I think DLC might be a very common thing amongst its games. I can't wait to see what Nintendo do with it though along with the 3rd party developers, I'd love to see Capom releasing new weapon/armor builds for Monster Hunter. New courses/stages or even special time attack stages for Sonic. Special ships for Star Fox that you can use for multiplayer and the same with Kid Icarus too, but new weapons and such.

With the amount of possibilities that can be unleashed I can't wait to see the 3DS actually rolling out with all these features, it could well become the greatest handheld among all handhelds. I just can't wait to see what the developers do with it.

Well I know the eShop will offer DLC. There is an "Updates" option which leads me to believe that patches are doable. Plus, Mutant Mudds will offer whole new levels (likely free) through SpotPass. I wish there was a Wiiconnect24 style messaging system though.

I hope Animal Crossing has DLC like it did on the Wii.

Samurai Warriors offer Completely New levels with their DLC, well once every two weeks as they rotate between New Weapons / StreetPass battles and New Gaiden Missions.
It really keeps the game fresh and I would love to see that happen in other games, RE:Mecenaries would have been perfect for that but I dont think the developers have allowed for it... this time. Mabey in a sequel.
