Yeah I agree i'm not getting my wii u til this june 2013 for various reasons but would still be nice to have miiverse in the mean time to play around with.

Also want to see release dates for:

Harmo Knight - 3DSware - March 2013 from last nintendo direct (When in march?!)
Animal Crossing - 3DS

I'm not expecting anything much since it's a US and Europe only direct, so it's probably just gonna be catch-up on Japanese stuff. My hopes are for more Fire Emblem Awakening spotpass maps (the free DLC that was done in Japan) and Animal Crossing details.

They could easily make this 3DS Direct as 'mini E3' as the Wii U one. Double whammy, make it so Reggie!!

What I want is a lot. What I expect is very little.

1) Dragon Quest Localisations (DQMTW3D, DQVII, DQHRS2).
2) A new Metroid or Zelda game.
3) GBA games on 3DS VC - or any significant VC announcement.
4) To not be the last region to get Animal Crossing.

There could be a Japanese Direct later this month.

This is what I see happening more info on Lego City Undercover, Pikmin 3 and more info on Platinum games. Tons of info on Luigi Mansion, Fire Emblem and Animal crossing. Maybe some updates on Miiverse, TVii and that Google Map app.

As if they'd announce new stuff in US/Europe before Japan...Oh I'd love them to (or at least at the same time) but it seems like a pipe dream.

When does the US and Europe ever take precedence over Japan?

I somewhat feel the same. I definitely don't expect it to be as huge as the Wii U Direct, but it should hopefully have one major game announcement. It's best to keep your expectations in check and not go completely overboard with speculation.

I'm not expecting much in the way of new retail announcements. They'll probably go more in depth with Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon & Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, as their next two games, with mentions going to Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Rune Factory 4, Etrian Odyssey IV, and maybe some info on the next Fire Emblem: Awakening DLC.

There'll probably be another eShop sizzle reel, featuring Guxt, Coaster Creator 3D, as well as some other stuff (a combonation of titles we know about, such as Yatagaratsu & HarmoKnight, and other small titles we didn't know about, such as some random UFO or Circle games).

No... Those expectations are too high...

Hopefully a Bravely Default localization will be announced, but then again, I'm sure my hopes will be for nothing when they announce a vague date for MiiVerse unification and another fleeting glance of Animal Crossing before saying, "It's coming soon". Oh well.

That was a bit different. They were hyping up E3, which is an American event, and did Japan not get shown the direct, or one similar? Even if they didn't, they are not hyping up a new console, or getting people to watch an hour long presentation the next day.

I could see AC finally getting a date. I would imagine that Luigi's Mansion will get some time, as well as the 3DS Lego City game. I would like to see Harmoknight as well.

Guys I think they really will announce new games. "But why wouldn't they announce anything in Japan?" Well a Nintendo Direct is happening in Japan on Valentine'd Day actually. So expect new game announcements.
