I was there about an hour ago, it still only had the DOA:D demo, and while I was able to download the Nintendo Zone Viewer, IK was unable to connect and do anything with it. According to an employee there, the Nintendo reps are making their rounds updating the units and they should be updated by Nov. 15 ... just in time for the majority of us to no longer care about them. Ironic, no?
Yeah, the Best Buy farthest from me has only the DoA demo and I got the Nintendo Zone viewer there but I wasn't able to access or do anything with it. I got a spotpass for Gallade though from Best Buy. It's weird how earlier this month, I went to best Buy in Port St. Lucie and got a notification about Star Fox 64 trivia for Nintendo Zone but never got the app.
Anyways, the Best Buy a bit closer to me has a much "current" 3DS where you can choose from a list of games to play or watch videos except no demos for 3rd party games... I didn't check to see Mario 3D Land because the time I went was before anyone said it's available at Best Buy.
Might go see tomorrow and try out Nintendo Zone there. Wish it would let you download the game though.
Surprisingly the Best Buy in my city had the SM3DL demo and being that the poor 3DS display unit is banished to a dark, abandoned corner of the store to make room for PS3 and Xbox demo stations (-_-) I got to play it two times in a row. My impressions of the game were good of course, and I really feel like Nintendo needs to implement this exact same system for the eShop. The demo process, for me, was smooth and intuitive.
Anyone (who'se been the Best Buy recently) know if they have a Kid Icarus uprising demo? 3D trailers are one thing, but it's not the same as playing the game (be it a short demo) in person.
