Topic: 3DS Charging Cradle

I am surprised that there hasn't been a topic about this yet, but I was wondering if anyone was excited that there COULD be a charging cradle. Personally I think it would be great. IF IT IS WIRELESS.

I think that wireless switch is for the wifi access, not the battery.

if my wiimote pad is anything to go on, induction charging involves much lower battery life than other methods. if you're using a portable device that you'll have away from home a lot, i think maximizing the battery time is much more important than eliminating something as trivial as plugging it in occasionally, so to me it's a bad idea.

in fact, if it weren't for the ability to charge a wiimote through the sleeves, i'd say induction chargers are much worse than any other type; they take longer, are less energy efficient, more expensive, and last half as long.

I'm not a huge fan of induction charging, if that's what's going on with that charging cradle. Give me a plain old A/C adapter any day :3

Does anyone know if these will be wireless? I think it would be great if you could like power it with batteries, then take in on a road trip.

I've always admired "Cradle Charging" after the dawn of the iPod Touch and iPhone's charging cradle. Nintendo really is making a name for themselves as they are really raising the bar with the 3DS and this charging cradle. You can rest assured I'll be reserving the Nintendo 3DS and heading over to GameStop to pick this up as SOON as possible!

I'd rather use a plain ol' AC adapter. A docking station that holds a few games, a couple styli, a soft cloth (for screen cleanage) and the system would be nice though, I'd prefer it if it had a little hole for the adapter to plug into. The Wii Remote charging station I just don't like, I always just replace the batteries: lasts a whole lot longer and only takes a minute.
AND OH CRAP THE 3DS WILL PROBABLY HAVE STICK-OUT SHOULDER BUTTONS LIKE THE DSi. NOOOO

i'm a little confused too...

are you asking if you could power the charger itself with batteries? it would seem silly not to just use those batteries in the 3DS, rather than put them in a charger to drain their energy, convert it into a magnetic current, and lose half of it in the process. some sort of battery pack you could plug into the 3DS would make a lot more sense, but whatever.

Sounds like a cool thing for me to put a 3DS in when your home. It would be cool if this came with the system. If it doesn't, then what's the point of buying it? And also, it's probably not induction charging and there will probably be AC Adapters too.
