My sister bought a pokemon gold version DS game. She tried to play it on her 3DS which went fine until she saved and tried to start the game again, it just shows black if she tries to open the save. Then she returned the used one and bought a new one, and had the same problem. Every other game works fine. Then she tried it on a ds, and the game worked. Then we tried on my 3DS, and that worked too. So it's just her 3DS (which is almost new). Is the 3DS broken? What do you guys suggest?
hers might have to be sent in. is it just that game or is it all games that she tries to play. But I really suggest that you contact Nintendo and send it in to get it fixed. Or if she has a warranty with the store she bought it from, then return it there.
Want: Harvest Moon: One World, Story of Seasons: Pioneering Town, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury
Finished the Alola Dex.
Now playing New Horizons, Wrath of White Witch and Sword
@Yasha: to be absolutely technical about it, that section of the forums is under 'About the Site', meaning its original intent was for users to ask for help with site issues. However, people do tend to use that section for console issues as well, which is fine. Either way, it's a problem with a 3DS, so it can logically go in either thread as far as I'm concerned. not sure where your comment went, so i'm going to assume you realized you were minimodding again and decided to pre-emptively cut it out
that said, since this section of the forums probably sees more traffic from users who don't use the Unread Topics page for their browsing, I'm going to go ahead and lock the other in favor of this one. And for what it's worth, getting in touch with Nintendo is your best bet, Winter — they'd be the ones you'd want to get in touch with either about 3DS problems or problems with just the game cartridge, so that's a double recommendation right there :3

I have a similar issue but my problem is worth $85! I was getting mad and threw the thing at my couch. I know my problem. But the top of the screen just popped up and I can see in the 3DS and when I turn it on the indicator that it is on is blue but than I hear a noise that is a electric crack like when the power goes out. It than makes the blue light turn off and renders my 3DS useless! I was wondering, if I have to get a new one will my downloads of applications like Animal Crossing NEw Leaf Pokedex 3D PRO and Cave Story re-appear? I've synced my 3DS up with a Nintendo Club account but this was AFTER I downloaded all these fine games! Somebody please reply because I was playing Pokémon Platinum for old memories on my DSi XL and Pokémon FireRed on my DS Lite until I get information on this problem.
I climb mountains, stop plumbers, catch wild animals, fight aliens, and own a town of other animals, what would you expect of such a terrific life?
@MinecraftforLen: The important thing is to not trade in your system! Send it in for a repair, and even if the system is damaged and unusable Nintendo can re-link your downloaded applications and games. No promises as to whether your save files will survive, but as long as you let Nintendo handle the problem, they can get you back your games, at least.
For what it's worth, i do hope they manage to save your save-files, i know losing all your hard work in AC:NL has to be a horrible prospect for you

@MinecraftforLen: I am afraid that since Nintendo doesn't have an account based systems for downloads and the downloads are tied to the system you will have to send in your 3DS to Nintendo to get repaired and keep your downloads. You could also buy another 3DS yourself and do a system transfer yourself as well but you will need both 3DSes to do the transfer. Dont get rid of your old 3DS before your new one has all your stuff on it.
