So i think the most important thing about game is how they sell the final product!
And game boxart is important factor.

Sum games get it so right - like Super mario 3D Land or mario kart 7.
But then there others like one piece unlimited adventure that has pretty boss front cover but the back of the case is ridiculous no information what so ever and tiny little pictures doesn't really sale game at all.

This is not great way sale a game
The following things are needed to make perfect game case.

1. Header and clear information about what the game offers - (Back of the case)
2. In game screen shots so see how game will look - (Back of the case)
3. Concept art - (Front or back of case)

So when you buy game are you bothered about what the boxart looks like?

would you leave game on shelf.
If game didn't sell its self ?
or would you buy it hope for best?

If we knew how small we were are problems wouldn't seem so BIG!

These days I always know which games I'm buying before even seeing their box art.
But I agree for your average consumer who doesn't really know which games are good, the way the box is presented is important.
Even if the game itself is terrible, with some nice box art, they've got some chance of luring in some poor, unsuspecting suckers.
