Topic: 3D looks better since update

Does anyone else notice this? There's no more double images in balloons on Pilot Wings for example. The screen doesn't seem to be as touchy about staying in the 'sweet spot'.

Maybe it's just me, but I could swear the 3D looks better since the update.

I don't know about 3DS games, but regular DS games also seem to look better. The double images (for 3D games) were apparently due to crosstalk between the left and right eye images, so maybe nintendo found a way to cancel some of the crosstalk, similar to noise cancelling headphones? Also I'm not sure how they could have increased the size of the sweet spot since the top screen can't be physically altered. Nice find though if it's true!

Yep. The software update managed to magically fix the hardware.

A more likely explanation is that you're getting better at viewing 3D.

I've noticed that my system looks better now. My actual physical system. It hasn't ever been as shiny as it is now. Lookit that Aqua Blue sparkle.

Really? Well, I haven't noticed. _{Maybe its cuz i sold all my 3DS games for OoT3D.}

Still looks just as awful as ever over here.

3DS games look the same, but DS games look somewhat better.

I definitely noticed double images in the Luigi's Mansion trailer, so I don't think they've magically fixed it.

I've also noticed that since this update the graphics look incredibly better. Man, the 3DS is THE BEST handheld EVER.

I was seeing the double images just last night while playing excitebike 3D.
You guys need to lay off the drugs.
It doesn't look any better to me. Sometimes I don't even feel like using the 3D. I get tired of having to line my head up just right to avoid image splitting. What happened to the good old days when games didn't need 3D to be cool?

I've only noticed an improvement with DS games.

I think starting now, each update we're gonna be "noticing things" or trying to find them.

@LInk79: Agreed but for me 3D (and besides the fact it's Nintendo games) is what is keeping me from buying...let's say...the PSP/Vita

I never use 3D. Keeping my head and hands as still as a corpse =/= fun gaming for me. I like being able to move a fraction without having my vision of the game being completely screwed up and have to readjust. >_>

And it hurts my eyes too.

/rant. At least the thing's frickin' awesome in 2D. :3

Yeah Even without the 3D it's still an awesome system! Why back in my day.....ah forget it I'm starting to sound like Cranky Kong.

@Link79 & Pixelman: I have yet to buy a 3DS but everytime I play around with it at Target or Bestbuy I shut the 3D off. I tried at first to use the 3D but after like 5 mins of playing it it started to hurt my eyes. So when I do get one I probably wont be using the 3D that much. Of course the 3D isnt why I would be buying it it would be for the Eshop .

Lol you guys and your intolerance to 3D. It doesn't negatively affect my eyes in the least. Of course this could be because they're used to staring at a screen all day.
And c'mon, pix, you're overexaggerating. A lot. You don't have to be still as a corpse to enjoy the 3D, there is some wiggle room. I don't have any problems staying in the sweet spot.

@TeeJay: even Nintendo has admitted that the 3D effect will not be for everyone, and some people won't be able to see it at all. That's why they give us the option to turn it off, after all :3
