if you're bored with your 3DS until all the games come out next month (like me) you can download some 3D photos to view from this site: http://3dmedia.com/gallery/ .there's plenty to see if you like japan, here are some of the cool ones:

unfortunately the 3DS is very picky about the format of 3D photos, so when you save these you have to take note of a few things. start by opening the DCIM folder on your SD card and create a new folder for the files there, with an 8 character name beginning with 3 numbers followed by 5 letters (example: 123ABCDE. any number combo between 100-999 will work).

the files themselves have to be named in the reverse order, 4 letters followed by 4 numbers ("AAAA1111". a _ for the fourth character also works: "AAA_1111"). most files on this site will have a valid name if you simply cut off the excess characters: "IMG_0406IMG_0407008.MPO" becomes "IMG_0406.MPO", which is acceptable.

this all sounds complicated but after saving the first file it'll be very easy. if you haven't already checked out the thread with the gamecube/wii shots in 3D you should definitely do it too, it's well worth the time. https://www.nintendolife.com/forums/3ds/wiigamecube_screenshot...

just updating to say this site works with the 3DS browser now so you can save yourself the hassle of saving to the SD card, although the 3ds doesn't seem to want to display photos larger than 1mb.

a few of you already mentioned it before but http://3dporch.com/ is also a fun gallery to browse. you can upload photos directly from your 3ds to both these sites if you have any you want to share which is cool but i can't seem to find where they've gone once they're done.....

@Romulux - to find your own pictures on the 3D Porch website you need to log in as yourself. Then at the top of the page click "My photos".
I've put a few pictures on their website. It's really easy to use and it's interesting seeing your own photos 'wiggle'. Also don't know if you know it, but you can save the photos as a gif file and then email them to people.

Here's my gallery. http://3dporch.com/users/VATalbot

i see, thanks for that. i still wish the cameras were just a bit better so you could get decent pictures out of them, browsing that site the quality gulf between the 3ds and fuji photos is pretty wide even considering that the 3ds is just a game system.

I don't know if this site was mentioned before, but It is another nice source of MPO files for 3ds.

i feel like an idiot. i just now realized that you can adjust the depth of 3ds photos you've taken with the slider pad.... no wonder some of them looked so shallow before.

no you cant adjust that. i never could do that. 100% or nothing with photos. same with 3D videos. you can only adjust it within menus and games

He's reffering to the sbility to move the Circle Pad left or right to move the 2 images closer together or further apart to make the 3D more depth or more pop-out. I always fine tune my pictures using this method after I take them.
