I didn't find any thread yet about this and wondered if anyone had a lot of time trying this camera.

This is where the 3D slider is the most useful to me. Trying to shot things for the sake of getting impressive results is great !
So what's your best photos so far ?

Here i got:

  • nice aquariums i shot at the professional aquarium store. a coral reef is impressive in 3D! and the fishes stand out a lot. you better try this.
  • Shot very close to the ground, into the grass. Every fiber look to pop out and adds a lot of depth.
  • I took my kids in the park, In a swing, their feet pop out when they swing close. i think this is the best pop out effect i got to see with the 3d slider on.
  • another shot in the park, into some climbing web-cage made of ropes. there is about 8 levels of ropes deep, each appearing very 3D and on different planes. nice.
  • while walking in montreal, there was some construction on a building and they built a protection cage over the sidewalk. i shot it at the entrance and since it goes for about 100 meters, the 3d effect looks awesome. some kind of tunnel of metal bars.

I didn't explore how to import the 3d pictures on my pc. do you think we can share them to see those pictures on other 3DSs ? I would be curious to see innovative shots people did.

I took a picture of my kid pointing a plastic sword at me. The 3D effect I was hoping to get was even more impressive than expected. I have to turn 3D off just to keep from going cross eyed staring at the plastic blade.

Other innovative shots I took include:

AR Samus blasting a Superman action figure, complete with a fireworks like explosion among impact (using the rainbow and stars graffiti tools)

AR Link and AR Pikmin on my dining room table (where there are a couple of fake potted plants). I added the leaves stamp to further the illusion of being in a forest.

Similarly, I took a picture on the same table but of Link slashing his sword to make grass fly.

I used the Miis of my kid and me looking like we were running out of the Batmobile (action figure obviously).

You're welcome. Let me know if it works, I've never actually tried this but I'm told it works. If it does, we could find interesting ways to share 3D photos of Nintendo Life

It would be fantastic to have a 3D photo-sharing thread on NL. There's a cool site that's doing something like this, 3Dporch.com, where you can see and download a bunch of 3D shots. And it even lets you "sort of" see it in 3D on your monitor... http://3dporch.com/WQUF

a thread is nice, but you cant the photos until you try them. this can lead to awkyard moments.

I'm surprised people aren't abusing the Miis! (eg. Samus shooting them, using them as bowling pins, tying them to railroad tracks . . .)

Well, you can't have both the Miis and the characters like Samus appear at once.
There's the Mii Viewer and the Star Viewer. They are two seperate applications, so the Miis and Nintendo characters never meet.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

I might make some use of 3Dporch. I've been taking a lot of pics, but most are of my daughter I've gotten a few with my Mii, or of Samus doing stuff, but not a lot else. Once I get something awesome, I'll be sure to upload and share
