I bought my first ds system a 2DS 4 months ago cause the deal was too good to not. Time has gone buy, my gamer roots have regrown,2k+ invested and.... I'm shopping around for the best console to upgrade my content to.
The things is in terms of latest and greatest I'm stuck looking at the hideous galaxy design.
On Amazon I see a collective of "New 3ds's" many advertised as having discontinued designs or whatever.
Are they all legit? Which one's are scams? Is the Galaxy the only legit "New" New 3ds?
BTW I plan on buying many several limited design consoles outside of my own personal one. I just want to make sure I'm buying legit Nintendo certified editions.
From what I've heard, getting a completely new New 3DS might not be possible except from a scalper.
I've heard they were discontinued a year or two ago.
I was actually shocked recently to learn there were three "New" exclusive retail games released in 2017. Amazing as I thought Xenoblade 3D from the 2014 launch was the only New-exclusive retail game they were going to make.
Also, about amazon... did they ever get into agreement to sell Nintendo hardware as a first-sale seller again. (that is, sales that are not second-hand hardware)
I remember them dropping first-sale Nintendo hardware (but not software) in protest of the original 3DS' launch (when amazon felt the original $250 price was too much, but Nintendo was insistent to stick to MSRP, until they uncharacteristically had to lower the price a few months after launch).
