Topic: 2DS or 3DS XL Which should I get?

So basically after getting my Wii U I want one of the 3DS family. I want one as soon as possible but the version I'd prefer is obviously 3DS XL. I have noticed the price difference between a 2DS and the 3DS XL so what I am asking is is it worth it to wait a little bit longer to have enough money to buy a 3DS XL instead of getting a 2DS really soon?

2DS is more for little kids. 3DS XL is definitely a better option.

XL has a bigger screen and longer battery life. It is worth the extra money.

I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.

The 2DS is a fine option. If you really want the bigger screen and longer battery life, the XL is the way to go. If it's not important to you, the 2DS is a comfortable, durable, and cheap handheld.

Well, I had to make the same exact decision and I ended up going for the XL. Now I can safely say it's worth the extra money. The 3D is incredible when done right and I can't imagine playing certain games without it.

This.

Plus you don't want to endure "Mono" sound...

All 3DS models have equally bad sound, don't let the fact that some have two speakers and others one fool you.

If you care about sound, you're going to be getting headphone no matter what 3DS you get, and it's the same on every model.

This is only your opinion, of course.

That's actually not true, if I'm interpreting you correctly.

Actually, my opinion would be:

3DS - loud enough
3DS XL- too quiet
2DS - a little louder than the original

I own all three models, and they all sound mostly the same. The only noticeable difference is the volume of the sound.

I think the 3ds xl is better than the 2ds and better to play with.

Thanks guys for the advice, to be honest I'm leaning more towards the XL. I still have my DS so I don't need to get a new handheld right now so...

I just bought my 3DS XL 2 weeks ago, and I was considering the 2DS as well. I didn't care about having 3D, I wanted the cheaper option to have it now. etc.
I am so glad I got my XL. I have big hands and the 2DS is a bit too small. I love the 3D as well, it makes the games look so much better. The screens are friggin huge! I love it, no regrets.

3ds definitely. I never really understood the point of having a 2ds when you can go out and buy a 90 dollar DS or DSi with the same functionalities as a 2ds, and those can actually close. If you wanted a 2ds to be able to play games like Pokemon X and Y, and others that are 3d enabled, then it's really not worth it, because I can tell you, the experience on the 3DS XL is phenomenal. Even compared to a regular 3ds. That's just my 2 cents.

Oh, and I just remembered that online communications have been, or are about to be, cut off for Nintendo DS. So yeah, don't get one of those. Lol, you probably already have one, but whatevs.

The Ds and Dsi certainly don't have the same functions as the 2ds.

By saying that you may as well say that, besides 3d, theres no difference at all between the original Ds and the 3ds.

Guys, keep in mind that the 2ds is just another 3ds model. It comes with a different look and without some features (3D and stereo speakers), but they are the same thing. Can we please stop treating one like it's some sort of chinese knock-off or evil sibling?

2DS feels cheap as heck. The circle pad really feels cheap. Which is all fine but for me it's hard to ignore when the 3DS has that quality of materials.
