Topic: 2D side scrolling 3DS game

Put your thoughts here on this topic, what you think will be in it, what you hope to be in it, and what it will be called. I'm thinking on this, and then I thought, well, Nintindo is already working on New Super Mario Bros. Mii, so it's possible it won't be in the New Super Mario Bros. after all. Of course, it could be called New Super Mario Bros. 3D if it came out before Mii, and we don't have dates or much info on either title. Because they are also thinking about/making Mii, it's possible they connect to each other, much like the next Super Smash Bros. It also might come out relatively late, as they are working on Mii. I would think this would be a cartridge game, not eShop. Lastly, I hope this has a lot of content, and new suits and adventures are here. I'm hoping they focus on a certain world theme in this one, as there was no theme for the worlds in 3D land, unless you count the background. Post your thoughts here!

well i wouldnt want a mario game. i would want a metroid one thats side scolling.

To be honest I'm not all that excited for a NSMB game on 3DS. I'd much rather have a Donkey Kong Country game in the likes of Returns on Wii. That could looks amazing in 3D due to the change in positions of the character - going back and forth in the foreground.

I'm also thinking of a Donkey Kong game, something like the GB DK or the GBA one, a puzzle game that involves moving through different layers to collect items or solve puzzles, that would be awesome!

NSMB got boring for me quickly, What we need is a Yoshi's Island sequel that's actually good (or just Touch and Go except an actual full game).

I think they should make a side scoller metroid game! YAY! SAMUS!!!!

i would like if they made a remake or a sequal of a game from my childhood like rocky rodent(or something else) instead of the obvious [youtube:SXDTLo3teJ8]

Same here. I'm hoping the 2D Mario takes a page from the SMW games. A DKC game would be awesome on the 3DS; DK Land Returns?

Does anyone else want some of the powerups from NSMBW back?
I'm thinking ice flower, propeller mushroom, and penguin suit here. Maybe there should be a fire counterpart of the penguin suit.

We need a new Mario, but not with new in the title. Just super mario bros. 4 will suffice.
