Vitei, the developer behind such games as 1080 Snowboarding and Doshin the Giant, are currently working on a new WiiWare title called Rock N' Roll Climber. Giles Goddard, who was a developer on Nintendo's mega-hit Nintendo 64 title Super Mario 64, is involved in the development of the title.

The ESRB has updated with a whopping four new WiiWare ratings! Three of these games have already been released in Japan, but have now gotten their first sign of a release elsewhere. The other's quite a surprise!

If you've been following VC news since the Wii was released, you might still remember that the ESRB rated a few titles before the Wii was even on store shelves. Games such as Super Mario RPG, Kirby's Dream Land 3 and more were all rated back in 2006.

There haven't really been too many great games released in the US recently - Aside from StarTropics II, Phantasy Star IV and possibly Kirby's Dream Land 3 it's been quite a bleak affair. Thankfully it seems like Nintendo are stepping up their game a little bit sometime soon, as two awesome games have been given the go-ahead by the ESRB.

Here's a bit of good news for all you shooter fans out there who've been anxiously awaiting word that Konami's hit WiiWare shooter Gradius Rebirth would be seeing a release outside of Japan.

A double whammy today, as both the PEGI and the ESRB have rated some new VC games! And not only do they reconfirm already confirmed games, they also reveal two new games.

If you've been keeping up with the news you might remember that "Sonic the Hedgehog" was recently added to the OFLC listings a second time. We speculated that this could be the Master System version of the game, but now the ESRB has confirmed that that is indeed the case.

If you're familiar at all with the Mother series (Only the second game was released outside Japan, as EarthBound) you should know it's got an enormous cult following. In fact, EarthBound was the number one wanted VC game in the Nintendo Power poll just a few days ago! Fans have pleaded for Nintendo to release the other games in the series, Mother and Mother 3 in the West, or at least give the series some more attention, but to this day, their wishes still haven't been satisfied. That is all changing now - EarthBound has been rated by the ESRB, indicating that it will be released on the VC in the future.

After the somewhat dismal pair of US Virtual Console releases this week we thought you could all do with some slightly more joyous news. Kirby’s Dream Land 3 has been re-classified by the ESRB!

Lucky Japanese gamers got their chance to enjoy the game today, but the recent certification of Phantasy Star II by the ESRB confirms that the classic Genesis/Megadrive RPG is coming to Western shores, too.
