Luc Bernard’s Eternity’s Child is easily one of the most hyped WiiWare releases of all time and despite months of speculation and chatter, it’s still not available. Having heard about release dates ranging from ‘Christmas 2008’ to ‘sometime in 2009’ we decided to get the official word from publisher Alten8 – who also happen to be handling the coding duties, too.

Our good friend Luc Bernard has just sent word that the WiiWare version of Eternity's Child will be slightly delayed due to difficulty in porting the game over from the PC version. Luc has told us that Alten8, the publisher of the WiiWare version of the game, has someone working on the project full time in order to get it ready for release hopefully by the end of the year.

Well for all those of you out there who have been patiently awaiting Luc Bernard's upcoming WiiWare title Eternity's Child, our friend Luc has just sent word that the Eternity's Child Demo is now up on Steam. Luc also sent along a personal message for the fans as well.

Some rather upsetting news has reached our ears today. Luc Bernard – the creator of WiiWare title Eternity’s Child and a firm friend of the site – has announced via his blog that he is quitting the videogame industry. He will be pursuing a career in graphic novels instead.

Not many people seem to be aware that the upcoming WiiWare title Eternity’s Child actually started life as a mobile phone game. It was never officially released but creator Luc Bernard has put it on his site as a free download. What a kindly gent he is.

Luc Bernard was kind enough to send us over a new preview build of his upcoming WiiWare platformer Eternity’s Child complete with tons of new levels to play. We've also added a bunch of new screen shots of the game in action which you can see at the bottom of this preview.

Just a few short days ago we posted a story that seemed to confirm that the highly anticipated WiiWare title Eternity’s Child was not planned for release in North America. This news came from the game’s creator Luc Bernard and was followed by the sound of wailing and the gnashing of teeth.
