Re: Gley Lancer

In case anybody else stumbles upon this page, I have to say that I think Gley Lancer is severely underrated on this website. In my humble opinion, a 7/10 does not do this game justice. It's a great, very anime-influenced take on the Gradius and R-Type formulas, with gorgeous parallax scrolling and a great (for the Genesis/MD) soundtrack. If you're a fan of shmups, don't hesitate to download this game.

I'm a huge fan of the genre but certainly no expert and I still managed to beat Gley Lancer and get the "Good Ending." It's challenging but not impossible, and if you die and lose your power-ups you don't have to worry about being screwed over. At 10 stages, the game is longer than your standard arcade shooter and doesn't necessarily have to be completed on a one credit run.

Overall - this is an excellent game!

By BelmontHeir
