Despite confirmation from many sites (including us) that the Wii Balance Board is perfectly stable on even the most polished wooden floors, Nintendo has nevertheless endorsed the production of what can only be described as the most bizarre videogame accessory we’ve ever seen. And yes, we include the Power Glove in that.

The Balance Board now has its own ‘Wii Mat’, which is produced by Japanese joypad and carrycase expert Hori and sits underneath the board preventing any slippage (even though the board is perfectly ok without it).

Perhaps the Big N has received reports of Wii Fit owners kicking their Balance Boards through TV sets?

No word on a Western release as yet, which I’m sure will upset you all greatly.
